Quackaholic, that is a very generous offer and I truly appreciate your neighborly generosity for me and my son. I can be patient and want you to concentrate on your wife and don't give my menial ammo woes a second thought. My son and I will make do. I will have you and your wife in our prayers and hope her well real soon and I thank you again for the heartfelt offer.

Have fun with the "line birds"! If nobodies around and they have chairs set up with no watchdog...rearrange the order and set back and see what happens. up I am just big enough antagonist that I would slide up if words were exchanged and let them know which guy was doing chair swap(not pointing to self mind you)! Feces storm stirred up like that and I would bet the farm popo would get involved and store would not allow staking out store early any more. stir

Brayden (Lazy L's Southern Comfort) you will be missed! You were more than a pet you were my reason to rise and return for many days! You were my rock!

I have come to realize in the last few months that life is short "real short" and we don't know how long that the Lord God Almighty has given us on this earth to be with our loved ones. No One knows when he or she will be called away. The precious and priceless time that you can spend with your son should not be taken for granted and for this reason the offer will stand for the ammo. Any time you want it please let me know and its yours. Spend as much time with your loves one as possible and tell them you love them.
God Bless, Joe

So I can place a chair in front of a place to mark my place in line and then leave? I'll go get some cheap chairs now and set them all over for Black Friday, the next gun show, restaurants on the weekends, movies, etc. and never have to wait in line again!

Just remember they are not breaking any laws by marking their spot in line and you are risking your life and possibly breaking the law by harrassing and intimidating others...

Cant wait to see how this one turns out...Hope I dont read about you in the Obituaries.

When I worked at a department store in the mall, I had to open the doors. When there was a big sale, the crazy ladies would just crowd up at the door. When I unlocked it, they woud run me over to get in.

You should act like the crazy ladies and not have a line, just show up and walk to the doors five minutes before they open. When they open, run it. Make sure you push anyone down that is around you.

If you really want to have fun. Show up 2 minutes before they open and drive fast through the parking lot. Jump out of the car and run to the door. Keep pacing and looking at your watch. When they open, run in. While all of the crazies are yelling at you run over to the refrig and get a gatoraid. Open it and drink it before you pay. Then calmly pay and walk out. They will yell the entire time.

Make a video and label it "Fun with Crazies"

Well guys, I guess my adventure is for not since I was able to buy a bulk order of Winchester 22LR through Midway an hour ago at normal prices, $25/box of 555 rounds. You were able to buy two box of 333, one box of 555 or one order of 5550 rounds (10 boxes) at Midway max. Got lucky I guess becasue Midway went out of stock as soon as I hit the order button. I'm still tempted to go tomorrow anyways to see if Academy deals with the empty chair issue but its oh so early when I don't need the ammo anymore but i do like the Gatorade idea.

I work next to an academy...and so have it my guy wanted to leave early so I switched with him and went it at 8 instead, I can see it from 75 service road, i looked over there we're maybe 6 or 7 guys in line at 7:45, So i went on to 7-11, got a french van cappucino, came back, it was about 7:58, but they were letting people in already, I parked, walked inside, they had bunch of 308 monarch brass, and 2 boxes of 9mm, left, I bought a box of 9mm...and went on...No big deal...I have 22lr, but that was the first to go, i heard a guy ask how much was it...

525 value packs are 19.99...but if the first 7 guys get 3 boxes each...gonna be tough for people that actually need to get any...

I bought a 1400 bucket, before things got crazy, and still working on it...

Yeah .22 can be tough. I bought a nice pellet gun in the mean time for backyard fun. When everything settles, .22 will be the first thing I stock up on, because I can't reload it.

They are breaking no laws, nor is the person who takes their lawn chairs and moves them about 50 feet away from the door. Kind of a tripping hazzard that close to the door isn't it. If the one person that is in line wants to take the vacant 1st spot so be it. If someone walks up and asks what you are doing say well i went to my car and when I came back these chairs were in MY spot.

Well Academy HQ called me today and mentioned others complaining about the same folks lining up and buying all the ammo and Academy HQ knows many people can't get there in the morning due to work. I wasn't the only one to mention that they should randomly set out the ammo and they said the are in talks about changing the policy on when they distribute their ammo. She was going to call me back if and when the new policy goes into affect.

Not sure how true it is but I keep hearing that Academy and Walmart 22lr is ending up on the shelves at cheaper than dirt. A brick of 22lr for $150 was the last rumor I heard. Last time I saw bulk packs at the fort worth CDT it was $60 for 555.

The other rumor was that the grasshoppers of chicago and DC are having to give finger prints for all retail ammo transactions. Thats why the gun broker ammo sells so fast.

Nothing like tall tales on the huntimg forum.

The unscrupulous ways that CTD operates, that would not surprise me!!

Tell me about it, I saw one 555 box of Winchester 22LR on gunbroker go for over $140 with an extra $25 for shipping. There were 16 bids on it with about 5 minutes left in the auction. I also saw 4 boxes of 22LR (over 2000 Rounds) at $340.00 with 19 bids on it. I wish people would stop paying that much for this crap.

Sounds like them. They still think they have the AR market cornered with 1800 Bushmaster ORC rifles.

They have been known to buy up local supply and then mark it up 10000000% .

I have no doubt in my mind they are doing the same thing with ammunition.
