G5 Montec 100g.

My son uses some sort of 3 blade mechanical. It shoots huge holes in animals and actually seems to remove the lung out of the exit hole. I will try to find out what that thing is.

Out of my crossbow, the 125gr. Montec G5 and Muzzy Phantoms shoot most similarly. Like the blades on those as well.

I use spitfire broadheads. My brother bought them for me when I was in highschool. They fly straight(like field points), do not have any o rings, and I can reuse them after killing an animal. I just clean the blood off, and stick it back in the quiver. They also leave a big hole, with lots of damage. On my recurve, I just use those old school razor tipped broadheads.

Some other mechanicals I have used don't fly straight and/or don't hold up well after being used. I hate O-ring broadheads.

QUESTION - For the mechanical/expandables users, have you ever had glitches, wiggles, deflections so to speak as the broadhead enters the animal near heavier bone where as it creates possible shallower penetration.

I used Rocket Steelheads in the 90's then Grim Reapers since they came out. The only issues I've ever had were with Rage heads opening up during flight. User error on me Im sure. But, Reapers are stupid proof with no orings. Ive got some broadheads with 10-12 kills on them. All I have ever done is change the blades out. Have not bought broadheads is 3-4 seasons. Just blades.

Stinger buzz cuts for hogs, and Grim Reaper WT specials for WT and exotics, never run more that 75 yards.
