Gunshow pricing is still outrageous also... $65/50round of .45 at the McKinney show a couple of weeks ago. Pass on that, I'll just shoot my bow until I can afford ammo!

Academy still has a 1 box per person/caliber/day policy, unlike 5 boxes/person at Cabelas

Some people posting here don't realize but they're part of the problem. If you don't pay the inflated prices they have to lower them. Ammo is not going to be extinct so why the panic and the rush. Stop buying more than you need and see what's happening to the prices.

I've been seeing 380 ammo alot in austin, mostly at academy but its a 1 box deal. Cablelas has been completely empty of pistol ammo.

The panic may be over but the ammo buying is not over...my BIL tried to get some 9mm today at BPS grapevine and they sold out within 15 minutes of opening. I am sure many people bought more than they need and also to flip it for profit, but still, until that kind of buying stops, the panic will not be over for those of us who can't get there for the opening bell...

I wish the hoarders and resellers would let some .22LR stay on the shelves until I can get some...

Went to a gun shop yesterday that had just received a variety of AR-15's. Very good (pre-insanity) prices ranging from $900 to $1,500. They also had some magazines and ammunition for most of the calibers that have been so scarce.

Went to Academy and Walmart in Victoria and both stores had some 223 and 5.56. as well some other scarce calibers at reasonable pricing. one box per caliber however just seeing some on the shelf was great. The scarce amo in Academy is not on the regular shelves you must go to customer service which I did not know until a nice old gent saw me studying the shelves and asked what I was looking for?? Maybe we are starting to see some sanity in this market. Hope so!!!

Hmmmm, What is the difference between commercial 223 and 5.56mm ?

The "in"sanity will not return to normal for another 3 years. It is "in" the white house you know!

There is very slight differences in case size, however, they will both chamber and fire in either.
