Mine was a red wasp nest with a Remington 20 gauge model 11.

Probably a bug of some sort. I really don't remember.

A sparrow with my Daisy, Christmas morning. My mom took the Daisy away 10 minutes later.

First thing I remember killing was a little chipmunk with my Papaw's Remington model 66 Nylon .22. I'll never forget it.

A field lark with a Red Ryder. I think my grandpa was just as excited as I was. He was a bird hunter from way back when covey of quail were everywhere.

Not really sure about the very first thing but I do remember the first thing I got in trouble shooting with my ol bb gun. One day while shooting targets off my grandmas patio I saw a red bird land off in a bush, after I pumped it up a few extra times I took aim and let one loose. I felt an immediate slap to my dome from behind. My grandma wasn't too happy.

My first gun was a Daisy Cub BB gun so it was probably a sparrow. My first kill with a rifle was with a Marlin single shot .22 short on a cottontail a year or so after the BB gun.

Got a Daisy bb gun for christmas. Next day in the snow & cold shot what I thought was a sparrow out of a big cedar tree. When I ran up to where it fell there lay a chickadee. I felt so bad I cried!
Dryberry was the last lake God created and it took the entire seventh day. Dryberry Lake Sioux Narrows, Ontario, Canada (a.k.a. Heaven)

With a gun, probably a frog, turtle, or some illegal bird with a BB gun. First "real" kill was a dove with a Stevens bolt action .410. I've gone full circle, I guess, and that .410 still kills them.
No wait! I remember shooting rolling gar in the Brazos off a bluff with a .22. I guess that would be my first official kills.

I honestly don't remember it specifically but it had to be a bird with my first cheapo Daisy. I was not kind to birds for many years....
I learned long ago you can't reason someone out of something they don't reason themselves into.

Growing up in Ohio, my brothers and I chased away all the birds and squirrels from our backyard trees with our BB guns. It really was funny to hear birds and see squirrels in all the neighbors trees but none in ours. After a while it was down right frustrating. I think it took a while for them to eventually come back once we all moved out.
I know we killed our fair amount of birds, but the squirrels would just grunt at us as we shot them in the chest with our BB guns. I eventually learned a pretty good squirrel bark listening to them barking at us...

A Red Breasted Robin with my Daisy. It took me several stalks before I could get close enough for a comfortable shot. I was actually stalking up on another bird, when this one came in and landed behind me. I can still see that BB arching up through the air, dropping down and finding its mark. That was 30 years ago.

First I can remember was a squirrel with an old benjamin pellet rifle. Grandpa helped clean it. I was Probably around 10. For some reason I never wanted to kill birds. Just liked 'em I guess.

I played hell on the birds with my slingshot. Never owned a BB gun or a pellet gun until about 2 years ago. Dad said if I was old enough to shoot a bb gun was old enough to shoot a 22 and gave me the old Winchester pump 22. Lord the rabbits caught hell!
Yes! A Weatherby does kill them deader.

I'm sure my first kills were with a BB gun. I don't remember what the first was but pretty much everything I crossed trails with felt the sting of a BB.

First kill I remember as a kid was a snake of some sort in our yard with my .22 when I was about 9-11 years old.

I remember shooting a lot of cicadas too. Now I realize those cicadas were about 10 years older than me at the time.

Frogs. With firecrackers. My cousin and I would light those suckers up and launch em across the creek bed.
