The Robert Taylor buck from Grayson County got its 60 day score a few days ago. After some corrections/adjustments were made, it has a Pope & Young non-typical score of 260 gross and 254 4/8 inches net. If that score holds up after future P&Y panel scoring, it could be the new archery state record non-typical. At that score, it's the fourth largest free-ranging non-typical ever recorded in Texas and one of the "Top 10" non-typical bowkills of all time. Here's the story: Robert Taylor Buck Story Update

Grayson deer are like Texoma bald eagles, well kept secrets. They are there but people can't believe what is in their back yards. especially so close to the metroplex and free.

I have to wear sunglasses into the woods, because the deer would recognize me, an just surrender with their hooves up.

Wow. I am sure the score is right but looks are deceiving with these non typical deer. it sure looks smaller to me. Id like to see a side view.

That is the kind of buck that you can have 25 people score and get 25 different scores. Tuff to score. Big deer but not my kind of buck.

I agree. I wouldn't even know where to begin to score a buck like this. How do you get main beam circumference when I can't even tell what's a main beam and what's a point. Not my style either, I guess its just too melted together compared to non typicals that at least resemble a typical before the kickers, drop tines, split points are added in. That is the kind of buck that you can have 25 people score and get 25 different scores. Tuff to score. Big deer but not my kind of buck.

I sure do like symmetrical typical but I'd have no second thoughts about taking that one

How in the world would you score such a beast?
Life is too short, as is. Don't chance it. Don't text and drive.

If I send my neighbors a text and ask them to give me feedback on my lawn and plant rye into a giant dong pattern, I'm probably going to get some less than positive feedback. Same goes here.

That is the smallest 265" buck I've ever seen. I no doubt would crush him if he walked out but...

Looks more impressive in this shot, though you'd think the guy might smile or something: Here's a shot of the Down's buck for reference: If they both were under my feeder, I'd probably shoot the Down's.

Ya'll know about where the place is he shot it? I heard it was a tiny parcel, like 5 acres or something. We own a large place between the airport and hagerman and I'm curious how close he is to us. I don't know the guy.
