Mag-Pul has confirmed they are leaving Colorado in the aftermath of the draconian gun legislation enacted there recently.

I know that Texas will welcome them with open arms!
Your Thoughts?

They will not give me any info, all I get from my rep. is: 7-8 locations are on the list!

No idea, but the biggest clue is the purported 30-day timeframe for new location. Throw enough money at a problem and it can be solved pretty quickly, but I tend to think they're moving to an adjacent state for logistics.

I believe Wyoming is at the top of their list... but we'll see.

Logistically I don't see why Wyoming would be such a great place. Snow would have to come into play more so than in Colorado, No Major Interstate Interchanges, Even Rail is not at its best up there. Offices maybe but Manufacturing I don't think it would be such a great idea. IMO

I read that Montana and Wyoming were the first two choices. Wish he would at least visit Texas before making a decision.

Texas is in the center of transportations future, Considering a good portion of an item's cost is directly related to shipping expenses, Texas seems like the logical choice.

If that was the prime motivation, I'd think the Volunteer State would be more logical.

Take out the states with magazine limitations; they're largely on the coasts. Take out lower-population Plains/Rocky Mountain states. The bulk of the firearm magazine-buying population might be best served from Tennessee; a state with lots of varied transportation infrastructure and close to their customer base. And surely there's plastics plants close for feedstock.

That said, I'd like to see Magpul move here.

Mag-pul is in my backyard. Literally miles from my Boulder County business. Cheyenne, Wy is only 60 or 70 miles north, and has long been courting Colorado corporations of every flavor. They have excellent shipping routes, with I-25 and I-80 intersecting, as well as excellent rail and air cargo facilities. I'd be shocked if they don't start up there, but I don't have any inside info.

^Agreed. A move just across the state line would even be a feasible if problematic commute for existing employees.

My guess would be that the owners of Magpul love to ski.

And access to public lands. Wyoming has that. Montana too.

Texas....not so much.

You really think the owners of magpul cannot buy their own texas ranch and fly to whatever state they want to do a little hunting?

They will move where ever it will be best for their business....

Come on down here. If they don't like the weather, wait a few minutes, it will change. 'Cept during the summer, that is, which is only 9 months long.

If they come here, they will bring upper management liberals. We don't need any more of them.

I'm sure they can. But I'm thinking that there is probably a reason why they chose to set up shop in that part of the country to begin with...and it may not be all business related.

Some folks just prefer certain parts of the country.

All I'm saying is that if they originally chose Colorado for a reason like that, Wyoming or Montana are going to be more like Colorado than Texas will be. There's lots of BLM land out west.

Wyoming is going to be a lot of small manufactures choice. No big taxes, no sales tax, cheap land and cheap buildings. Extreme gun friendly. Only real drawback is lack of skilled labor.

I wish more of these companies would come to Texas but with real estate prices and property taxes there are better choices.
