I just got my Merino back from the Taxidermist. Needless to say, I couldn't be more happy. Great job done by A-1 Taxidermy in Mesquite, TX. (posted this in the taxidermy section too 'cause I'm just that happy - sorry for the 'double post')

Thanks again, I think for now I am leaving him like he is. Putting together an extension of my mancave in the next few weeks, so maybe a wall plaque but, undecided as of right now. This is the big merino I got on the discount ram hunt with Thompson Temple in Barksdale, Tx. It was a $500 hunt. I had a great time, his accomodations are greatly improved, couldn't beat the price and with my back in the shape it's in nowadays... I'd call it a fair chase. Up & down the hills on the loose shale & scrub brush everywhere, was a workout for me. But the 30-30 got the job done and I was able to punch through a good bit of brush to make the shot.
