May have a opportunity to buy a bunch of medical grade lead. It is in brick size blocks and weighs about 35-40 pounds each. What's it worth ?? Good quality for casting bullets ?? I don't need it so if I get it will be for sale.

Just buy it. Loaders can add tin or antimony to adjust hardness.
You know it could be bizmuth as well......
They use different alloys for radiation shielding.....just make sure it is lead for sure.
If it is radiation lead, it will be 99.9X% pure and you will have to add tin and antimony to get it ready for shooting as a good hardball lead will be 2% tin, 6% antimony and 92% lead.
CAS shooters like 95% lead and 5% tin....
You'll want to reference the Brinell Hardness chart....16 is a good number to shoot for...no pun intended.
BTW, tin is a very mild hardener and is used mainly to help fill the molds better....that's it's main job.

Hell I'd love to buy some. I THINK it goes for about .40 - .50 cents a pound

OK, I said it was lead but after reading and looking at it I'm starting to wonder. Its a little tarnished on outside and when you scratch the surface it looks like lead. How do you tell for sure?? Found one article that said some shotgun shells are loaded with bismuth.

Lead will gray up in a matter of days if you leave it in the open air. If you have any doubts, snip a corner with a pair of wire cutters. If you can cut a chunk off, it's lead. Pure goes for about $.40 a pound to the scrap yards. If it's nice and clean, you could probably get close to $1.00 for it. If you are in Greenville give me a shout and I can tell you what it is.

Does it give you lead poisoning? It will if it enters your body at a high velocity.
