My rig will be down for the next 2 weeks so I'll be going out for the remainder of the season.

Fruitless hunt this morning, went scouting and found them. I'll be back out there in the morning.

I've been pounding the banks at the Barney this week and broke out the boat this morning; paddle powered, and its been tough. You can tell the ducks are avoiding the easy access areas like the plague. So far, all of gotten is a pass shot on a teal, he was plenty close enough but he was bobbing and weaving the whole time, I think I got to far ahead of him and to my left. I'm heading out in the morning for some areas not reachable by walk in. From what I have been seeing it looks like the ducks want to be in those places......

We are going to give them heck at the creek tomorrow. Hunting everyday until the end.

Heck ya, no days off!

Hittin the same hole I did this mornin done in 15 minutes on public and went back by after about 30 minutes and was still loaded up with birds

Tomorrow will be my 21st hunt of the second split, I wish someone would've mentioned how addicting this was!

I should be in a blind the next 4/5 days! Would be 5/5, but have a predator tournament on Saturday! Good luck guys!

You missed the boat by not hunting till this late in the year, it was on pretty good out there the first split and part of the second but pretty dead lately out there from what I hear.

Went out a tried it again this morning.....this time walk in........The birds still seem to be sticking to the main lake and staying as far as they can from the shoreline...........but..........I say that and was set up on the shore again this morning didn't see anything even remotely interested in coming to my spread. I got ready to leave about 9:00 after not seeing anything all morning and started gathering up my 3 dozen dekes on Texas rigs. I got the mallards first, and then the BWT's, went back out to get the GWT's and was standing there starting to pick those up when all of the sudden I here the ruffling of wings, I look up and I am being buzzed by 5 BWT's. They circle me and land about 15 yards from me. Abbi see's them instantly and goes after them and they blow up and are gone. Naturally my shotgun is on the shore. I won't take it with me out in the water for safety reasons. To many trip hazards.

That's why you gotta get a gun sling. I always have mine on my back when I go out to arrange or get the decoys. I've had that happen too many times
