Bought 400 rounds of 7.62x39 124 grain hollow points Tulammo brand. Noticed most people shoot 154 gr. FMJ. Is this good ammo ? Paid $80 for it and the guy threw in 40 rounds copper clad FMJ and 4 stripper clips. These are referred to as "greasers" ,I believe, and can be used in a pinch to clean the bore if you have a bunch of lead fouling and you need to clean the rifling while in the woods for extended periods, say during an apocolypse. LOL

Yes, the 124 HP is the preferred round for the SKS. Also, you got a great deal. In todays market, 7.62x39 is selling for about 35-75 cents a round. Before the big scare, it was about 25-35 cents a round. You got yours for 18 cents a round. That's a dang bargain. As for the copper clad rounds, could you post some pics of them, and what does the headstamp say on the end? They might be steel core chicom ammo. If so, they are very hard to come by, and sell for over a dollar a round.

Wish I had bought a bunch of it in the very early 90s. Some of you might remember the days of $89 SKS in Shotgun News and that copper washed ammo for $2 a box of 20.

lf the saying "Liar, Liar your pants on fire" were true
Mainstream news might be fun to watch

31=Chinese
71=1971
Steel core
Corrosive primers

Save those in the event you're ever need to shoot through body armor, steel plates, or grizzly bear skulls.

My old man used to buy Mak 90's at the gun show for about $200.00, and crates of copper ammo for $125.00.
