I have used both the ND3 and Hogzilla light for night hunting with hogs. The ND3 has good range and has a intense beam of light. The biggest issue with the ND3 for use with a scope at night is that if your scope is not at atleast 6X power, the light will not completely fill your field of vision. At 3X power at 100yards the green light would only fill the center of the scope. if you look at the picture on the following link, you can see what i am saying. the picture is on the bottom left under Hunting and Spotting. http://www.lasergenetics.com/nd3-laser-designator.aspx
I have also used the Hogzilla light, which is much cheaper at $49. I could see out to 200+ yards and at 1.5X power on my scope (Burris MTAC) at 100 yards it looked liked nightvision! I have also found that the Hogzilla light did not spook like the ND3 did. I think the intensity of the ND3 is just too much for Hogs at 100 yards. The ND3 is $329 while the Hogzilla is $103 which includes batteries, charger, mount and pressure switch. You will be happier with the Hogzilla and can save alot of money.

Hope this helps smile

I have a ND3 and a cheap $15 ultrafire green CREE light. the $15 ultrafire seems to work just as well but any LED light is going to make more peripheral shadows than a colimated laser. I hog hunt about 6 times a year and I have shot 1 hog with my ND3 and spooked 1 sounder with the green LED. I have had more success with a Stanely 1m cp spot light. I recently switched to a Gen 1 ATN Spartan with a huge Steamlight IR illuminator. Cheaper Gen1 night vision with a good aftermarket IR illuminator is perfectly usable but tends to be bulky. I had no problem seeing hogs at 80 yards the one and only time I took it out.
