What you really need is a 300 Winchester Magnum. That is the best caliber on the planet, probably even in the solar system and maybe the universe.

You can't really name a gun, they have to name themselves. I went on an MLD hunt many years ago and killed 7 does with 7 head shots from my 220 Swift. The ranch hand/guide that took us out and picked us up said "That's a dandy little doe snatcher you've got there." Ever since then that Swift has been called the Doe Snatcher. X2 My old 300 Win Mag earned the name "WW" , stands for Whitetail Widowmaker.......Ttxsmith knows from experience why and how the name was earned.
What you really need is a 300 Winchester Magnum. That is the best caliber on the planet, probably even in the solar system and maybe the universe.

Mine is a Remington 300 ultra Mag and I call it "The Big Dog" and that baby gets meat on both ends . But it's my favorite no matter how big or small the target when you let the The Big Dog Eat something is gonna die right where it stands.

But it's my favorite no matter how big or small the target when you let the The Big Dog Eat something is gonna die right where it stands. i assume you don't have a brake on it? those things are just plain nasty to shoot I hunted with a guy who had one in an SPS with no brake....thing weighed like 7 lbs. it hurt me just looking at it

Oh no brake but I bought it to go to Colorado elk hunting and it makes me look like a great shot . The first thing I put in the scope was a 5x5 bull at 375yrds as I said I ain't no marksman but when I pulled the trigger that dude bit the dust ! So I took it to Mexico and same thing all you do is line up the crosshairs and let the Big Dog Eat and it don't move I love hunting with it !!
