If you would run 2 or 3 barb wires at the very bottom of a fence would this help keep the hogs out??? thanks dlineman1

Not if there is only barbed wire above it! And even if you have hog panel they can dig under if they really want in.
Keep em huntin and they wont have time to get in trouble!! And remember RESPECT goes a long way!!

One thing that helps is to run 3-4 feet of 4" square fencing laying flat on the ground on the outside of the fence. Usually called predator wire this makes a big difference keeping hogs out.

Normally a fast lead slug keeps them out. I'll be glad to help. Just say when and where.

What are you trying to keep them out of? LOL. Not everyone wants hogs to be able to tear up their property or parts of their property.

Net wire with a strand of electric about 6-12" above the ground all around the outside works pretty well. But they'll push right through that barbed wire, that stuff doesn't phase 'em.

My question was to find out if it was a feeder, food plot or his yard. Lot of different ways to fence them out depending on what he is trying to keep them out of.

Bury your panel about a foot deep, they can't root it up as easy and thenyou can run a separate hot wire 6 inches from the fence about a foot high. That way they have to get past the electricity before trying to get into your fence.

My dad has the thick wired panels with 6"x 4" rectangular holes. It is tight to the ground and very stiff. He also has 3 strands of barbed wire on top. All the other properties around him have hogs, but in the 35+ years we have had the acreage, no one has ever seen any hogs, or any evidence of hogs. Even with a 25'-30' deep tank that has never even been close to going dry, there are no hogs. There are tons of acorns, thick cover, flatland, and water...everything a hog would want. Coincidence? I don't know, but the fence is the only difference between my Dads place and the surrounding farms. Occam's Razor comes to mind.
