It was tough hunting again as not many birds were flying ! Did see a few groups of 15-20 birds just before sundown Fri, and Sat and that was about it ! We were hoping for the cool front to push some more down , but that front stalled out west of us! I did not see any day hunters at the Western or the Hamilton Inn's! Hope it gets better in the next few weeks....

We were hunting just west of you last week in Meridian. The sunflower field has few coming in but it is a big private field. We got about 12 between 3 of us there and move to the 30 acre lake. They came in there consistently. Could have shot a limit but didn't have a dog. I think my buddy did any way and I didn't move since I cut my leg bad trying to wade for a dove. Finally got it with my fishing rod. It is finally healing. Should have got stitches. Anyway, just not many birds down yet. Last year, limits were easy. Saw maybe two groups of 10 to 15 on the field. It is about 25 acres.
