I can reload anything you like. What bullet are you interested in shooting in the STW?

Losded the stw when I had one.

Chad is the man when looking for reloads / custom ammo for someone that does not reload. He will load it up and ship it as well.

I've been thinking about a 7mm stw for awhile as something to reach out past my 270 and 308..a little flatter shooting. But it seems brass has become just about nonexistent except for the high dollar nosler brand. Too bad winchester doesn't churn it out like they did back it the heyday.

BearWolf, have you considered the 7mm Rem Ultra Mag? Pretty similar.

You need to call it...I can't call it for you.

Not really interested in the rum cartridges. I guess part of my being drawn to the 7mm stw is its uniqueness. Having it in a sendero sfIi style rifle with a sightron sii lrmoa scope would be great. Maybe someday.

Cabelas in buda has 200 Remington brass for 37 per 50 as of yesterday. Remington has it on their "seasonal" production list and it pops up around Oct and nov every year

Mine likes the Berger vld that I hand load and the factory stuff.

What questions do you have?

I can load most any common lead bullet in the STW with Remington brass for $258 per 100 rounds. 162 A-max, any Hornady SST, or lead SP. The problem with the VLD in factory ammo is the seating depth. It's too far off the lands to reliably shoot well in factory guns. I see this all the time.

I just picked one up this year. I have no problem finding brass. In fact, I found a deal on some Nosler brass and got 150 pieces. Mine seems to eat Nosler Accubonds pretty well with H1000. It hated the Bergers. I'm still trying to find the sweet spot in my powder charge, but it takes quite a bit more powder than the manual says before pressure signs.

Had the same experience with mine and H1000, using Nosler 160gr partitions.

The Berger VLD's will need to be seated close to the lands to make it shoot well. If your magazine does not allow the bullet to be seated close to the lands, then it most likely won't shoot them well. Berger makes the most accurate bullets I have ever shot, once you find the right load. It does take time, but well worth it if you find it.

I seated them into and just off the lands. I never could get them to shoot, but granted I didn't take it much further than trying with H1000 as they were longer than mag length and I plan on using the gun for hunting and didn't want a single shot.

I did two different ladder tests at 500 yards with one seated .01 into the lands and one seated at .005 off the lands. Neither of the ladder tests showed any sort of grouping for me to play around with powder charges in that area. Again, it was longer than mag length so I didn't take it any further as I knew I'd never hunt with them. My buddy has had great luck with them, but I just didn't see the results he was seeing with my STW.
