I have access to 100 acres of pine trees in red river county a couple miles away from Avery. I was thinking about hunting turkeys this spring, but I don't know if there are any there. I was curious if any of u guys hunt around Avery, and if you have ever seen any turkeys?

Best thing to do is start scouting now. I've heard of birds in your county.
OMG, this is the best slumber party ever!

Red River County traditionally has the most Easterns harvested out of all counties (except for last year). Game camera with some corn should be enough to know what kind of population you might have.
