why does it seem that his shoulder muscle is gone, does this foot rot stay with them so long that the muscle deteriorates????

It is very painful from what I have seen watching deer with it. They will not put weight on that leg unless the have to. Lack of use causes muscles to loose tone. Seen deer with it for a year.

muscles start to atrophy very quickly from nonuse. I can tell from personal experience. 6 weeks after no weight on my leg after skin graft on foot due to an infection the calf muscle was half the size of other leg.
