I’m cooking for 14 people opening weekend of dove season and I would like to cook something different than the norm (Steaks & BBQ). Any suggestions?

We're cooking for over 150 and having campfire chicken on Friday. Mmm one of my favorites. It's always a favorite

Nothin quite like pouring out crawfish corn and taters on the table and passing out the beer flats for people to eat at the lease. Plus the hogs like the shells.

"Frogmore stew". basically it's shrimp, sausage, onions, red potatoes and corn. Same as what the crawfish guys are talking about. Haven't seen any crawdads for sale in the last few months. Seasonings are a little different, not as much salt as for crawdads. Google "frogmore stew" and you're all set. I like the chicken deal mentioned above.

Smoked Quail Hit your nearest Vietnamese grocery. They sell 6 packs of them frozen for about 7$

We're doing fajitas on Friday and smoking chicken thighs with beans on Saturday. I'm all about easy. Plus everything tastes better when you cook it at camp.

I like the crawfish idea!! Can you find good mudbugs in Sept.? Sadly, no. Crawfish season runs Jan through June most years. Sometimes a little into July, and I've had crawfish for Christmas, but they're usually tiny.

I smoked a big old bone-in prime rib roast last Christmas... take about 3hrs and it will make you slap your mama.

Our big thing is breakfast. I'll cook a big wok full of breakfast taco goodies and turn 'em loose on it. Always get checked by the GW and she always turns down the food. Guess she's watching her figure.
