I used to do it until I moved to Houston. Lost interest. Starting to rethink it since I want light 20 gauge loads target I can't find anywhere. 3/4 oz.

Better yet is someone around here or Dallas wants to make some money I will stock up

The only time I shoot anymore is in NSTRA, and I don't miss, plus Cracker doesn't find her share of birds. What do you think?

I know ChadTRG42 does rifle and pistol reloads but do not know about shotgun. It is his business as a Federal licensed ammo manufacture.

I still reload some for 12ga but not nearly as much as I did when shooting in skeet leagues. These days I shoot 20 and 28ga a lot more than 12ga.

I have never reloaded but plan to start this fall. I have been told though that it doesn't save much money over buying shotshells.

Depends on the shells you are buying. With relaods you can duplicate target loads which pattern better for about the price or a bit cheaper than the cheapest Promotional loads

Are you saying I can get B&P performance for around $5.00 a box if I reload? If true I might ask for a MEC for Christmas

Can't go wrong with a MEC, I own 2, 12 and 20, the 20 is 35 YO and still works great.

I reload all three, mostly 20s and 28s. Saves a little dough, produces a better shell, but mostly, I like piddling around with it. Goes good with a beer and a ball game on the radio.

All of us at the Bandera Gun Club who competed in Skeet reloaded
for yrs..especially the 28 and 410..$14 a box gets a little testy. Most are buying 12 and 20's now due to the costs of shot
and the time it takes to reload..DD

I used to reload both lead and steel loads...but it was too time consuming. It was really cool making special loads. My favorite where my "Lighting Steel" loads. Great little 2 3/4" super fast steel loads for duck hunting.

I got two little girls at this point and when I'm at the house I just can't make the time for it. I'd like to get back into it one day but that will be a bit.

I reload. I had gotten out of it at one point when the price of ammo was so cheap. Now with the price of ammo going up, I got back into it. Just picked up a MEC .410 Grabber this week. I like the fact I can load up some target 7/8oz loads in the 12ga all the way to 1 1/4 oz dove loads. I do my steel for ducks as well as TSS for turkey.

I reload 12 and 20. I can load light 20ga for around $4.50 when I can buy the shot at a fair price plus I load a better shell than I can buy.

If you guys wish to save on the lead, find a gun club that's harvesting their old shot and buy from them or the guy whose running the machines..it's a little beat up, but works well in
bird loads especially for Quail..or shooting Skeet..DD

I reload 12ga & 20ga (lead & steel) for myself and family.
But would never think of selling reloaded ammo. Besides you have to have a special license to produce ammo for resale.

Yeah Dad used to do the skeet leagues and has a progressive MEC loader. I ran the numbers recently on loading and with the price increases in chilled shot it was a wash between loading and factory loads. juggle

Unless you shoot alot, like competitve Skeet, trap, or sporting clays, its probably not worth your time. You have to figure the price of a good reloader plus components which wont save you any money unless you buy in bulk. It takes a lot of shooting to save you money. The only exception might be if you shoot 410 or 28 ga. maybe even 16 because they are so overpriced.

Load all 4 ga for skeet. Put my last dog down 5 years ago, but still have a single stage set for 1 oz 28 ga. If the birds ever come back, I will be ready.

You almost have to reload 16'S due to fact there is no selection at the stores. My 2cents about reloading is you will not save money. You reload only because you can not find what you are looking for at retail stores,or you just enjoy reloading.

If you are not shooting a 16,28,or 410..it's cheaper to buy shells than to reload even if you shoot a lot..if your time is
worth anything to you..Lead shot is about $45 to $55 a bag..not
$10 to $12 anymore..and a good little Mec Grabber is around $400
then you have to have hulls..all the same kind, primers and powder..I have all of the 4 reloaders, and occasionally reload for the 28 or 41..but nothing else...Don

I started reloading in 2010. Mostly because I need shells on the lighter side due to a neck surgery and can't shoot 90% of the commercially available steel shells because of the high recoil produced.

I'm loading 1oz 12ga loads for about 4.50-4.75 a box than are close to winAA quality. Not that you need high quality shells for skeet.

Hunting loads are where you really start making some ground. I can reload Remington Long Range style hunting loads for around 5-5.25 a box.

I've also replaced replaced the 2-2.25 a shell Hevishot loads with Bismuth hand loads at about 1.35 a shell.

I'll begin loading 3/4 oz light 20ga loads for my son to start shooting by the end of the year.

Thought for the day: Ducks were almost hunted to extinction long before camo was invented.
