My son has some night sights for his Glock on order. Are they easy to change or do I need any special tools? Anyone have the tool?

You will need a rear sight pusher and the thin walled little socket for the front sight.

You will need a rear sight pusher and the thin walled little socket for the front sight. That's correct. Some tell you that you can drift the rear site out with a nylon punch, and you can, I've done it. But I won't do it again. Find someone with a pusher. Being in DFW, someone on THF has the tools and would probably do it for you for a 12 pack.

Is there a preference as to what direction you are to drift the rear sight out?

Removing it isnt the problem, installing them without the correct tools is where you will run into problems!
My suggestion woul be to take it to your local gun dealer and see if they will do it for you. Most places will do it for next to nothing. I have done enough business with the gun zone here in dallas that they will install all mine for free. I have had night sights installed on about 6 guns there.
Or if youre a serious "do it your selfer" then ebay has all the neccessary tools to get the job done.
DO NOT buy glock brand rear pusher. It carries the same warranty as your glock but is in no way as reliable as a glock. And to get it replaced has to be sent back to glock which can be a pain in the arse!

If you're in DFW, check out GT Distributor in Dallas off 635 and Shiloh/Garland Rd. They installed a set of Warren sights for me late last year for something like $10 - $15 while I waited, and I did not buy the sights from them.

Gunmaster here in Plano has about a 3 week backlog to put on sights, or do any work..and you have to leave it with them. May be worth a call to GT...

I'd take it GT's as well if you've never done it. I've got two sight pushers that I never use (my dept. armorers kit). I use a nylon tipped punch and a triangle file to fit the dovetail and the front sight wrench from Dawson Precision.

SERIOUSLY?
gunmaster must not be interested in making easy money!! they have a waiting list to install something that takes 5 minutes tops?
they must be lacking experience in the repair department!

For what it's worth, I tried Gunmaster before finding out about GT...forget the wait, Gunmaster's "customer service" during my inquiry was terrible.
Granted, I may have hit GT on a slow day for them, but they folks working there and the guy who installed the sights were good to deal with. I did call them first, too.
Good luck.

Depends on who you talk to at Gunmaster. Some Stuff they do while you wait. I had sights and a trigger connector installed same day I walked in while I waited
It's okay...I'm a Zamboni driver!
