Looking at a lease about 15 miles west of childress. Hows the hunting around that area. The place does have about a 200 acre wheat field.

If north of 287 could be good if south of 287 likely not.

That can be some good country. A lot depends on the terrain. I hunted south of Turkey, TX. and we had nice deer but not many. After feeding for two years we started getting more deer. We also built a pen to keep the hogs out. We had Mule deer at the top of the fields and whitetail in the draws. During mule deer season we wood sit on a berm and glass the cotton fields and crp grass.

Had a lot of fun up there.

Really hit or miss south and more miss than hit, if you can find land north of 287 you will be happier.

I'm in hall county with one of my leases. I've hunted childress county before and would do so again.

Definitely worth a shot.

If it's south of 287, then you'll want it to be on or near the Pease River. That's where the highest concentration of White Tails hold.

To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.

I've not hunted in Childress but have hunted nearby to the west. I was covered in Deer of both species, never ran into a good number of hogs but I know there all over the place. I stayed on top of a small ravine and took a good WhiteTail buck and doe in the same sitting.

If I could get a reasonable place, I would definitely go back to that area.
