Bought one a few weeks ago but haven't shot it yet.

I read reviews for months before deciding to get it and from what I gathered is the people that cleaned it up and broke it in/cycled it over and over before shooting it loved them.

Anyone else use them? Looking for opinions on what ammo people had the best luck with and which I should use to break it in.

Thanks.

My son shoots one. We have had good luck. I know that some have not had good luck. We keep it clean and it has never mis-fired.

my friend and my sister have the m2000. there's a screw on the receiver that stoeger said tends to come loose. my friend lost his but used screw from lowes and some locktite and it's good as new. Stoeger sent him a new screw when he called them about it. Other than that it's a great gun with a very smooth action. He shoots Kent Fasteel and Black Cloud through his.

Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

I bought one used about 6 years ago and other than it having a stuck choke tube when I bought it (that Stoeger replaced with a new barrel for free), I haven't had any real problems. I shoot the cheapest shells I can find and it cycles everything. Well, as long as I keep sticks and mud out of it. haha... whistle

Also lost a bolt handle a couple years ago - totally my fault. Used an old screw to open the bolt to load/unload for a while until I finally bought a new one.

I take it you didnt read any of the posts on this site about it. Lots of lemons...but at this point it doesnt matter you already bought it. I hope you're is trouble free...if you get one that's trouble free for the price it's a good deal.

I bought mine 4 years ago. Works great. just don't use rem oil.
I found breakfree clp works best.

Bought one brand new and fully disassembled and cleaned it before shooting, put 20rnds of 3" steel through it first thing.

I put 500 rounds through it cleaning every 100rnds, had no issues what so ever.

Sold it to a buddy who was getting into skeet shooting, and he calls me a months later "Its light strikeing primers and theres bad reviews all over the web!"

He had put 800rnds through it with out cleaning; we cleaned it like the manual says and it was right back in action.

He cleaned it every 500rnds and the last time I checked with him he had put a confirmed 5,000rnds....yes 5,000ROUNDS of 2&3/4" #8's and it was still going strong!

He bought a benelli and gave the stoeger to his girlfriend to use when she went to the range and its still going strong.

1. Get out the manual and clean it with solvent, I used hoppe's #9. Clean EVERYTHING take the action apart and use a toothbrush and solvent.

2. Relube as instructed in the manual FP-10 gun lube is what I used but CLP, Hoppe's extreme or Mobil-1 15w-50 motor oil will all work well. (DO NOT USE REMOIL!!!!)

3. Reassemble and run 20ish rounds of 3"mag steel, and you should be good to go.

If you have issues with miss fires all you need to do is give it a good cleaning, I was really impressed with the bang for the buck on the M2000.

Had a small problem with mine the 1st month I owned it during dove season... it wouldn't feed the 1st shot afetr unloading it. Brought it home, cleaned it and.... that was 3 years ago. Gets 3-400 rounds at dove, about 300 rounds of steel in the last 2 years. They say the work or don't. I will buy another.

Used my stoeger for 3 seasons, both duck and dove. Knock on wood.... I have had zero problems with it. The only thing I did was disassemble is when I bought it to remove all of the factory grease. When I clean it I use rem oil or the hoppes solvent with oil. I don't do anything special with it. It has been a great gun, kills birds, and has actually gotten compliments from friends of mine about how light it it.

I have one I bought a year ago...fired about 15 rounds and did not have any issues. I just dont use it because I also purchased several other new guns. If anyone is looking for a camo Stoeger I would like to sell mine.

I would never buy a gun you HAD to clean. If that sucker dont shoot right out of the box or after fishing out of the water I dont want it. I dont see how anyone can justify HAVING to clean a gun. Should you, yes. But to expect a gun to malfunction after a few hundred rounds is plain stupid. If you're that cheap buy a pump.

I bought one 3 years ago. Ive had 2 shells not cycle. Both were Kent BBB. I mainly shoot Xperts for ducks and cheap stuff for dove. I fully break it down after duck season to clean it but I didnt clean it at all the first year. Wanted to se how it would hold up. No problems other than them 2 shots. Good guns. Plus you can float a fourth shell if your in to that sort of thing.

Ahhh, no I'm not. If I can't get a duck or two in three shots skillet shooting, one more shell won't help scared

I don't either. A buddy told me about it this year. 3rd shell is usually only used for cut shots. Just letting people know for consevation goose hunting.

I have one, the 2nd one. First one was a lemon. This one worked fine for a year or so, but this last season it gave me he!!. The bolt would not close all the way when it cycled, so I'd go for my second shot and 'click' Missed a lot of birds bc of it.

Hope yours works out for ya, but I'll never buy another one.

I have had one for 3 years and have not had a problem out of it. I broke it in while hunting and have only cleaned it 2 times.

My Dad has had one for just as long and his would not fire some Remington Nitro Steel Shot on one hunt. I gave him some Winchester loads and he did not have a problem. My gun shot the Remingtons fine.

I think I saw the Stoeger Field Kits on sale in the Academy weekly ad, kit includes:

1 cs - Stoeger premium "Break In" rounds
1 ga - Stoeger factory grease remover
1 dz - Stoeger receiver screws
8 oz - Loctite
1 ea - replacement barrel with removable choke tube
1 ea - bolt handle
6 oz - Stoeger non-remington gun lube
1 ea - UPS $50 gift card
1 ea - piece of wood
1 ea - Team M2000 logo kit bag with shoulder strap

You might be able to pick one up on Craigslist for less but some of the items might be missing

I got 1 last year and no issues for skeet, dove and duck season. I normally clean mine after skeet or a 3 box dove hunt shooting cheap stuff. I'm doing a charity skeet shoot in couple weeks and lookin forward to breaking her out. I also researched a long time before purchasing and sounds like issues are corrected or people not takin care/cleaning.
