Sorry for your loss.

"I will lend to you for a while, a Pup, God said,
For you to love him while he lives and mourn for him when hes dead.

Maybe for twelve or fourteen years, or maybe two or three,
But will you, till I call him back, take care of him for me?

Hell bring his charms to gladden you, and should his stay be brief
Youll always have his memories as solace for your grief.

I cannot promise he will stay since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught below I want this pup to learn.

Ive looked the whole world over in search of teachers true,
And from the folk that crowd lifes land, I have chosen you.

Now will you give him all your love nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to take my Pup back again?

I fancied that I heard them say, "Dear Lord, Thy Will be Done,"
For all the joys this Pup will bring, the risk of grief well run.

Well shelter him with tenderness; well love him while we may,
And for the happiness weve known forever grateful stay.
But should you call him back much sooner than weve planned, Well brave the bitter grief that comes, and try to understand.

If, by our love, weve managed, your wishes to achieve,
In memory of him we loved to help us while we grieve,
When our faithful bundle departs this world of strife,
Well have yet another Pup, and love him all his life."

not to sound all girly here or anything but here is a poem that always helped me in the past.. really sorry for your loss. But you did the right thing.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

That picture is really hard to look at. I've been there and it's definitely one of the hardest things i've ever had to do. Sorry for your loss.

Guys...I appreciate the prayers and thoughts....My heart is still heavy looking at the last pic that I took of her. But in my heart I know that I did the right thing..
She had trouble getting up and walking especially on tile, the vet said her liver was hard as a rock as well..

My poor Hunter Ray is sad as all get out. Wish I could take him to work with me but company policy won't allow me.

Very sorry to hear and understand completely. We have a couple of pets right now that are getting elderly and health declining. Not fun to think about, but I know it's coming soon.

One of the toughest things that we as responsible pet owners have to do. Be glad of the good times you had with her, the memory of those will last your lifetime.

I love my dog more than I love most people...thats a really tough place to be but I know your dog wouldnt have wanted anyone but you there by their side to ease them on. Know your dog was comforted by your face and having you there during a tough time in both your lives.

Hard to convince yourself you did it for right reasons but you know her qualitiy of life was not what she deserved. You made a decision that had to be made and you are more of a man than many for it.God speed her journey till you meet agin! Now can't wait till I get off work to go hug my 140lbs moron at home. frown

Brayden (Lazy L's Southern Comfort) you will be missed! You were more than a pet you were my reason to rise and return for many days! You were my rock!
