You need to read another book.

Most likely he has a routine. Take notice of his pattern and then have yourself a stake out! Put the fear of God in him, but maintain control!

Shouldn't be too hard to catch him. Looks like he likes to ride Saturday mornings at 9:00 since he's out of school.

And he's just a kid. A good heart to heart talk will do much more good than getting angry or turning him in. Plus - with a good chat, you can tell whether or not the "talk will take".

There is a reason he's cutting the fence. If he was told to do so by an adult, that adult needs the strong arm of the law...parent or not.

Nothing to add that has not already been said. Here are some links for legal reference...

I lease land and work hard all year for deer season. A kid who cuts a fence and runs up and down on a motorcycle deserves punishment.

One of my best friends was riding a dirtbike in his neighbors back yard. Took a clothesline directly across the mouth. Knocked out everyone of his top teeth. they had to pick them out of the grass to try and put em back in. 10 yrs later and he just recently got the last of his teeth fixed. I would highly discourage trying to set some type of booby trap or mono wire. Catch him and chew his butt out

Might want to ask the principals at the high schools in the area, I bet they will know him. A friend of mine is the Ag teacher at Azle if he goes to school there I bet she would help you.

I had someone ramming my gate years ago. I welded 2" fence post staples to pieces of plate and set them beneath water in a mudhole just in front of it....The damages suddenly stopped !!!

What if there had been a fire on your place and the local VFD had tried to get to it to stop it? The problem with any kind of traps is that it could effect folks that should be there...

You'll catch him soon enough. Hope your able to keep your temper in check. Mine would probably blow. Nonetheless, if he has money for the dirtbike and fuel, he'll have the money to repair your fence.

That boy is old enough to know better but could care less. Signs, fence and he keeps cutting his way onto your property.

He needs hit butt whipped.

He is your friend defender your dog. Be worthy of such devotion

up but I do agree that there should be consequences, like maybe he could work for free repairing fences, deer stands, feeder pens, etc... for about a year!

Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience.

+100, A guy from my high school died about 2 years after graduation by being "clotheslined" while on a motorcycle. They weren't doing anything wrong either, just a freak accident. I was not there that day, but the story I heard though friends was this:

One of the buddies had recently bought a dirtbike and was taking it for a spin in the field across the street from his house (with permission). A small group of friends gathered and began taking turns riding the bike. His turn came up and he unfortunately got a little off the trail and was too close to a telephone pole. He hit one of the cables that anchors the pole to the ground. Sadly, from what I heard, he was nearly fully decapitated. He died in only a few minutes. Way before they could even think about getting help to him.

I would highly discourage fishing line, booby traps, cables, nails, lethal force, etc . . . Especially since it's just a kid.

I agree with what was said by someone above, "you guys act like you never did anything wrong as a kid." I did some things in my teenage years that I'm not proud of. Some of those did involve trespassing. I'm so glad that no one wanted to shoot me over it, and I'm also glad I'm here now.

Some laws can be taken over the line very quickly, without much thought, and regretted for a lifetime. IMHO trespassing laws that give you the ability to use lethal force are truly intended to protect you, or your family, if your life is in danger!! Shooting a teenager riding a dirtbike on your property would be a huge stretch of the laws intent. I personally could not live with myself if I knew I ended a life over those specific circumstances.

I know it's frustrating, and costing you money if you keep having to repair damage. Also not saying he's in the right. But don't shoot, and don't booby trap. Catch him in the act, detain the bike, get a sheriff or warden involved, and let them scare him and his parents. Get the Dad to reimburse you for all expenses before returning the bike. If he won't, put the kid to work on your property a few weekends to work it off, then return his bike.

Teenager needs to learn a hard lesson, but doesn't need to be mamed or die to learn it.

The kid has to live in the area, dirt bikes don't have much range. I bet he lives withing a couple of miles of your land, just can't see him riding 50 miles just to get on your land.

I would cruise the area and see if I could spot the bike.

I'm here to also discourage any type of wire/clothesline trap. There was a kid riding on the back of his buddy's 4-wheeler. The driver saw the ground wire and ducked, the kid on back didn't. I think it was almost a full decapitation. Plenty of other ways to skin this cat.

I understand you carry bolt cutters to open the gate and never said that a VFD would ram a gate...but that will not help you when you pull up to the gate to cut the lock with your bolt cutters and there are 2" staples hidden under the water puddle and your truck gets 4 flats confused2
