Can anybody tell me were to find the hunting laws for the lake my parents live on the north end of the lake in Westwood shores . I'm gonna try duck hunting when I visit them. Not looking for spots I'll do my own scouting. I looked on tpwd and TRA website couldnt find anything.

Its managed by Trinity River Authority. you need to get in touch with them for hunting regulations.

1. stay 300+ feet from a habitation
2. be friendly to the guys at the boat ramp
3. watch out for gators during teal season especially
4. leave some for me

Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."

x4 on gators.. Ask Garret about what happened to him while setting out decoys... Lets just say he no longer has those waders...

Thanks for all replies. I'm definitly on look out for gators couple houses down from my parents they had a 13footer claim a boatslip as his when the lake was down. Game warden had to come out an kill it. Now within the last few weeks there is another one that they say maybe closer to 14ft that game warden is trying to catch. Them things r getting bad.

Man, I don't see how y'all do it. Never hunted down south except around Rockport.
Those gators would scare the pizz out of me. I have a buddy who lives east of Houston and he's told me some pretty close encounters with some gators.

No bad days hunting

Don't hunt a dog until late November or early December if you value him. On the other hand if its worthless it will be a good show.

Call the local Game wardens around there they are good guys and are really helpful. All depends on if you are hunting the actual lake or the river and the river laws are very gray. Good luck enjoy the mud.

This one was not far up river from livingston...The lease im on this year on the navasot lost 5 dogs last year durring teal season they were so thick.

Livingston is a very hole puckering place to hunt on the warm days. The last time i did on a warm day a nutrirat popped up 2ft infront of me while i was kneeling down in some lillys...3 shells rang out before my gun even got to my sholder

That one was a little bigger than the one that chased Garret out of the water.. I have never seen a grown man run so quick through mud

5 dogs? Holy crap. Seriously, how does that happen? Who are the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th guys that sent their dogs out there?

I can't imagine watching my dog get taken down by a gator. I would go bat [censored] crazy.

Why would anyone with a dog get on a lease so infested with gators? I have never heard of any lease with that many dogs killed in one season.

I have never heard of 5 dogs being killed by gators. If friend #2 is not a retard then certainly friends #3 #4 and #5 are window lickers. 5 dogs being killed by gators is just plain irresponsible. Each trained lab is around $10,000 after all is said and done with training, vet and opiginal purchase. Who has $50,000 to feed aligators?

It was previous lease owners just to clear that up.

But my question to you is who spends $10,000 on a dog... I wouldnt send my dog in this actuall lake but there are plenty of public and private hunting areas that have gators... more than likely somewere you have hunted before...i agree with you that they shouldnt have kept hunting the dogs after the first time but you never know when it can happen
