I don't know about corn farmers but we some guys filling trucks at some dryers in Robertson county once that filled up the back of our pickup (six 55 gallon drums)or so for about $250. Might keep an eye out when you see the dryers and there's someone around.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

Best thing to due is wait until late harvest. Some of the guys that got corn in late or have had lots of rain, will have to much moisture and will get docked heavily at the elevator.. those are the guys you can get good deals with.
Other then that its hard because a lot of us contract our corn. If we don't grow enough corn to meet contract we get to pony up. And if their is to much corn produce we will do every thing we can to meet those contracts because price is higher.

Ask a feed store or grain storage that cleans corn to price you corn screenings for cattle feed. Usually much cheaper than bulk corn and still will have some smaller kernels of corn and cracked corn along with cobs and stalks.
