Looks like the Duck Commander reality show is moving to A&E and is going to be called "Duck Dynasty"...Show starts mid March.

Maybe this will help ease the pain until next October/November.

Is it duck season yet?

It belongs on A&E anyway instead of the Outdoor Channel. Way more family drama than duck killin' goin' on there...

Not saying I don't watch it either or hate it, but it ain't RNT-V for sure.

I like 'em but I couldn't help but wonder about this in the press release:

"This newly minted multimillionaire family is kept in line by business-savvy Willie, who runs Duck Commander with the help of his brother Jase, their respective wives Korie and Missy, patriarch and founder of the company, Phil, and uncle Si. Together they run a booming business that employs half their neighborhood, but at the end of the day, you can find the whole family around matriarch Miss Kay's dinner table."

You can become a millionaire by making duck calls?!?

Wow.

I agree. I met Phil a few years back and what you see is what you get. What he is on TV, he is in person.

And while I would agree that some of their shots seem a little long for my taste, I also know that the camera thing makes shots seem really long. They are probably long, but not as long as they look.

Bottom line, I think $$$ or whatever, kind of cool that a hunting show is going to be on a mainstream kind of a network.

SERIES FOLLOWS BACKWOODS MULTIMILLION-DOLLAR FAMILY RUNNING A DUCK-CALL EMPIRE ON THE LOUISIANA BAYOU

PREMIERES WEDNESDAY, MARCH 21 AT 10PM ET/PT

A&E Network introduces the Robertsons, a Louisiana bayou family living the American dream as they operate a thriving business while staying true to their family values and lifestyle. "Duck Dynasty" premieres Wednesday, March 21 at 10PM ET/PT on A&E.

Ask anyone in Louisiana and they'll tell you that the bayou state's favorite first family doesn't live in the governor's mansion but in the backwoods, where the Robertsons' rags-to-riches story is still unfolding. A homegrown mom-and-pop operation, Duck Commander has become a sporting empire by fabricating top-of-the-line duck calls and decoys out of salvaged swamp wood.

This newly minted multimillionaire family is kept in line by business-savvy Willie, who runs Duck Commander with the help of his brother Jase, their respective wives Korie and Missy, patriarch and founder of the company, Phil, and uncle Si. Together they run a booming business that employs half their neighborhood, but at the end of the day, you can find the whole family around matriarch Miss Kay's dinner table.

Each episode brings a new set of challenges, met with a special brand of Southern know-how and a down-home sense of humor. In the premiere episode Willie, CEO of Duck Commander, catches his crew constructing a testing facility to experiment with new duck calls at the warehouse. Only problem is, their makeshift pond is a flooded loading dock filled with ducks.

"Duck Dynasty" is produced for A&E Networks by Gurney Productions. Executive producers for Gurney Productions are Deirdre Gurney, Scott Gurney and Joe Weinstock. Executive producers for A&E are David McKillop, Elaine Frontain Bryant and Lily Neumeyer.

I didn't know they made decoys let alone wooden decoys. wink

I don't hate on them at all for making a good living. That is as American as it gets. The only thing I don't like is the endorsement of products or should I say different brands of products in the same field. Switching from Godevil to the other to another just gets me blistered a little bit. To me that is BS. If your going to use your name to endorse a product then let your name stand behind what your saying. Not let the highest dollar drive your name. It diminishes credibility!
I have never been in his shoes but if I were I would hope I would not do that kind of crap.

Yep the camera sometimes makes a shot appear further than what it really is, on top of that Jase is shooting an Extra Full steel shot choke a lot of the times, so he can make some pretty long shots but he grinds them up, up close. You can see it in some of the videos, the amount of feathers he blows out of them and in some of the shots he has actaully sheared off wings.

I think they're great and I appreciate Phil's emphasis on his faith and how he puts man up stairs in good light.

+1 I think the videos were probably the bigger part of the wealth they accumulated. They were on the fore front back in the days of VHS and got a pretty good jump on everyone else. I'd hate to try to market videos today like they film, they are established but a newbie would have real tough time getting market share......
