not sure how to answer this,, but to your first question no, and to your second, yes. perhaps if you elaborate a tad more on what you are wanting to do.

The swift will fit in a short action but the conversion you are talking about will require a new barrel. The Swift is a semi rimmed cartridge and at the case diameter is not large enough for the swift. The case of a 22-250 is .473 where the case body taper starts and the swift is .445 or .028 inches smaller than the 22-250.
If you are a reloader you can get very near 220 Swift performance from a 22-250AI which is an easy conversion and cases will last longer. Or you can improve on it with another wildcat the 22-243.

FWIW I have a 220 a swift and I enjoy it. However, a good friend of mine had a 22-250 and my rifle did not show any advantage in the paririe dog towns we visited. Being a semi-rimmed round, you must insure the rim of the top round is in front of the rim on the round below it.

keep the 22-250 and add a .257 weatherby magnum to your collection

Will go 22/250 AI next time not a fan of rimmed cartridge and having to be careful loading so it will feed. Pain in the arse.

Comercial success no, but I do not see any load data for 22-250 or 220Swift that hits 4500fps with a 40gr bullet like you can wiht the 22-243, 224TTH and 223WSSM. The WSSM is less than 1grain case capacity from the 224TTH and gains slmost an inch of effective barrel with that short case

Have it rechambered to a 22-250AI, the swift is a pain with the rimmed case. You can get the same perfomance out of it and better case life. Almost eliminates case stretching.

Yup, have a few boltactions that take full rimmed cartridges and hear the Semi rimmed Swift is certianly a pain. One custom rifle in 44Mag that is control round feed actually works quite well even feeds 44spcl, but you can tell the rifle maker took quite a bit of time making that work. I do not really care about pushing those light bullets so fast, been there done that with the 17 Remington and 20gr bullets at 4300+ not at max loads either. Copper fouling at those speeds is pretty bad. The OP was wondering if he could just rechamber the 22-250 to teh swift, answer no. But a very good alternative would be to rechamber said barrel to 22-250AI or 22-243 either would work for a reloader
