So I know the Whitetail is king in Texas but can't us duck hunters catch a break!? I'm getting really tired of the pathetic waterfowl sections at Bass Pro (Grapevine) and the Academy's in Dallas... where do you DFW guys go for waterfowl gear? I wish I could run over to Cabela's in Ft Worth but that is over an hour for me so its just not realistic... I've heard that Academy in McKinney has a pretty good selection, but I wanted to see if any of you guys had a favorite store near Dallas.

There really isn't one. I order off Mack's or Rogers Sporting Goods.
Dry Creek Outfitters - North Texas Duck, Dove, Turkey and Pig Hunts! Widgeons shall now be known as democrats. Living off the hard work of others.

Depends on what your looking for. Arlington's Academy had a decent selection of decoys earlier in the year and still have alot of goose shells. Shotgun selection isn't the greatest, alot of steel shot if you like Dry Lock or #2 Experts. They did have Federal #4s for $12.99 last week
I'd ask him if he's pregnant. He missed a s__tload of periods. I'll take "things that look like a uterus" for $200 Alex.

Mail order is where it's at. Cabelas, Knutsons, Macks, Rogers, Avery, Midway to name a few. Shop for the best deals, clearance, and coupon codes.

Online, you'll never get a better selection or see what is on sale in the stores - sells out too fast. Plus if it's not on sale on one company website, it probably is on another's.
Academy is good for some light use stuff and ammunition, I'm just not a big fan of Game Winner for durability.

Do you realize there is a Cabela's in Allen? Stacy Rd and 75.
otherwise, Macks Prairie Wings online. I personally like the "Drake" brand of clothing. It's priced right and is pretty good quality.

I wounder how many sales are lost to the internet because they just don't carry the gear. And what they do have (Academy, Cabela's Retail, etc) who's selecting it?

Yea I've been to the Cabela's in Allen several times and have been very unimpressed with their selection and stocking... clothing wise Bass Pro, Academy, and Cabela's are all fine, I'm more frustrated with the lack of decoys, calls, etc.
I always go to Macks website to look at gear, I probably just need to start ordering it when they are offering free shipping... haha like most guys I wait to buy my gear until the last minute, just wish there was decent store in DFW.

There is a much better selection online for Cabelas. Order it online and have it shipped to the store for free. Usually there in a couple days. The instore selection there is not that great.
