I've watched so many people take big deer this year. My biggest is a 8 scored 125 i shot when I was 16 and haven't even came close to it with any of my others a 9,7. I haven't even shot a buck this year so I am here to tell everybody that has shot one that I hate you!!! wink wink

Have you tried State Parks? Paved roads are quieter.

Well considering that I've never been on a lease that I had to pay for and always worked for my deer either on public land with a bow or hunting on a acre of land I got mine when I was 16 and do good to tag out on my does every year I actually have to work for my deer to bad your kid will never have to earn his way or feed a family sense daddy will take care of him =]and I doubt your 10yr old son would turn down a 125 class 8pt as a first buck

who says l dont work for my deer i work on scouting, just like you do, l work so l can pay for my lease, work to put corn in feeder, cant help it if you don't want to do that, Wow for you to say that my son will never have to earn his way you sure got alot from just this little post, and he has allready killed a buck last year, so he will not shoot anything smaller,

Considering I am 20 and there is 8 people living in my house "lots of room mates" and I am the main care taker, and I am in college who said I don't work? I say I'm anything but lazy, if anything a good young man. Also who said I haven't shot a deer? I said a buck..If you got the money to blow on a lease then go for it lol I find small places and make friends for life you can brag about your son passing deer all you want good for him I hope he gets one but before you make an assessment on some one's work ethic you should have facts. As far as a 10yr old earning and actually working for a deer or a lease I doubt it. It was a given. If its legal it dies.

we dont have to pay for a lease have plenty of friends and family that will let us come hunt on there place, but it is hard to get a young person to LIKE to hunt if they do not get to see something moving around in the woods, and just for you info its not allways about getting some meat in the fridge, most of the people on here will tell you it is adout getting a young person out in the woods, biulding camp fires, gathering wood, getting away from the paved roads and riding some fourwheelers, just my 2 cents

l did not say you where lazy, i did say i cant help it if you do not want to pay for a lease, sorry if you took it like that,
and as far as blowing money, watching the kids run around in camo and taking some pictures with some wild game that they just harvested, l would blow that money all day long !!!!

Agreed it's not easy to meet people but as far as family nobody that's family is fortunate enough to have land so be blessed. I remember when my dad could take me hunting. Best days of my life, just don't get old on him and stop. Those are memories he'll never forget and the day that he does get old enough to do stuff on his own don't leave him high and dry. I've hunted with my dad twice this season even though we didn't get nothing and still every time I go out with him it's the best day of my life eventually luck will change. Until then I still do my best to do what I can to help, if that means shooting a doe, spike, or a 6pt with a 13in spread.

Yes ya'lls luck will change, you put out some good lines, l will not give up on him, he's 10 and im 35 we are having great times lots of memories, we use to go camping at the lakes around but now they would rather go to the deer lease and camp. Tell you what you, sound like pretty good person, you stay in school and get what you are going for and you will own your own hunting ranch one day,

Yeah it's hard to get him in the woods now, all he likes to do is fish lol, but i do to just not during deer season, like this past weekend, we got 11 blues this weekend off the boat ramp. I'm going to school to be a warden hopefully. If not something with the park's. Keep taking him hunting and maybe I'll be the one protecting his hunting and fishing resources for his kids.

Sounds like you work pretty hard keeping your family together Anew. Your day will come. Just keep after it and be patient. When you finish college and are making a little more money, maybe you can get on a decent lease and get your shot at better deer every year.
