Too bad I don't have much gear. I left most of my dekes back home in Cana.

I've got more gear than I can use at one time. Just don't have any where to hunt

Hunt the rivers, the colorado has been stacked from what ive seen. Not sure about the brazos or the navasota. They were good back a few years ago and this year ive seen increased numbers on the rivers. Should produce a decent hunt

From the first post it could be taken that you have a place to hunt but need someone with a boat...that's how I took it until I read your second post.

No I have a good boat, gear, and a dog. I don't however have a hunting partner nor a place to hunt. Scouted the navasota, no birds, low water, lots of obstacles. Defeinetly not a trip I want to make alone.in the dark.

Not really the case at all. Im unfamiliar with the area, I don't have anyone to hunt with nearby. Im offering to do all the work to get a hunt in. I'll drive, use my boat and gear, just want someone to hunt with that knows the areas. Sure like how some folks on here are so friendly and willing to help.

Boudreaux, you'll learn on her pretty quick that people tend to be downright assholes....thats why I don't post in Migratory section anymore...

What you and the rest of the topwaters on here ALWAYS seem to forget is that that area info you so yearn for was obtained by folks who busted their azzes to get it. I ain't trying to call you out, just letting you know that folks don't take too kind to asking with nothing in return. Furthermore, naming specfic areas will ruffle a few feathers as well. You get a pass on this one cuz you just didn't know any better. Well, now ya do. Hope you find your golden nugget and when you do I advise you to keep your piehole shut about it. You can thank me later on that one. Go get 'em, Tiger bounce

The rivers are still down, even with all the rain we got? Seems to me the rivers would be good, even if they were low, with so many ponds and wetlands dried up. Might sound crazy, but sometimes I'll just paddle in when I'm not sure how the going would be in a bigger boat. After hunting, I scout in the daylight. Just have to be careful cuz if the water level did jump up, there will be new snags & strainers.

I just recently.moved to the area, like a week before season. Didn't really know I was comming here. So I haven't exactly had enough time to learn the area with trying to get settled in and moving. I've got places to hunt, just no where near here. I don't like how you assume that im some potlicking spot stealing barney cause im asking for some help. Im not new at this. Im actually trying to meet some new folks to hunt with who know the area a.lot better than I do. I thought that's what this forum was for? Im " just saying" as they say.

I appreciate the folks who pm'd me. Hope we can meet up and get a hunt in some time soon.

B/CS and the surrounding area has not gotten the rain that the rest of the state has. The rivers are down and holes are still dry. All we can hope for is to be blessed with the next rain.

Boudreaux,

Let me know when ya wanna go scouting again. I've knocked on a few doors in the last few months without much success as in yrs past when we had a drought yr. Folks are holding onto their water tightly this time around. Many are leasing their land/ponds out to cattlemen for $$$. Economy is tight. Also, some leasing out to more deer hunters than in yrs. past. Money talks.
I'll be putting miles on my SUV looking again today.

BTW, you still have to drop your boat/canoe down over 10 feet from the bank in some spots to get to the local "rivers". Even then there isn't much room to manuever with trees and such in the water.

PM me sometime for a trip to the coast if ya want.

No Choke, you're in BCS? I sent Boudreaux a PM about a private property I use for outdoor workshops, just didn't think about it til someone posted a comment on this forum. (DUH! Sometimes I forget connections I have. hammer ) Don't think we'd be stomping on anyone's anything cuz I know the folks that own it and they don't hunt. I'm going to contact them and see if we can access it and scout it out. If you're interested, I'll send you a PM.

I dont see the problem with naming the area you wanted to hunt. Everybody knows it exists. You didnt mention birds or what you shot or what you saw. Good luck!
