Good luck next week. Havenot hunted much with smoke pole in Texas but in Mississippi have taken deer, racoon, rabbit, and an otter. The otter was in the fish pond on the paernts place eating its catch when I was headed out hunting one afternoon. 80yard shot with 45cal round ball. Deer kills have been only does

Deer, Hogs, Buffalo, Raccoon, & Watusi
Most were taken with 300gr THOR HP and either 100gr of 777 or Pyrodex. Using 250gr THOR AT and 100gr Blackhorn 209 now- but nothing shot yet.

I shoot a 54 cal hawken replica. I shoot 315 grain buffalo ballets over 95 grains of pyrodex. I have shot a doe a 10pt buck, and about a 200 lb bore. All were one shot kills.

Me too. I was going to take both of them opening week of season but it was supposed to rain (and did) so I left them at home. Wonder what a .50 PRB would do to a squirrel? Would I be over-gunned or under-gamed? confused2

Got my first bull elk with a CVA 50CAL at 154 yards! Several pigs and doe with my Knight Shadow. Just got back from Pike County, IL and was hoping to take one of their big trophy bucks, but never got a shot at one!
