I bought this one at walmart http://www.walmart.com/ip/Coleman-LED-flashlight/13848696Mine looks just like the one in the picture, and was 24.88, but the package says it's 110 lumens, the website says 75 The 110 lumens is 3 aaa batteries, and says it will run for 9 hours, I used duracell's and got a solid 9-10 hours before it started dimming any, and I've got rayovacs in it now, just about 8 hours of use and it's starting to dim. With fresh duracell's in it, it's as bright as my 1 million candlepower spotlights with it on a tight beam.
I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.

These flashlights: I have a HP21 that is 1317 lumens on high and runs on 4 D cell batteries for 2 hrs 15 min on high and 207 lumens on low and runs for 40 hrs 30 minutes. There is no better no light for tracking. It is very lightweight and is as good as a spotlight. I also had a T7 LED Lenser that runs on 4 AAA batteries and is 175 lumens on high and will last about 1 hr on high and is 125 lumens on medium and last about 2 hrs and low is 30 lumens and will last 13 hours.
Are idiots multiplying faster than normal people?

I saw a flashlight at walmart yesterday that says it is for bloodtracking. It had purple and another color LED's in it and stated it makes blood show up like under a blacklight. Thought about buying it to try it out but didnt. Dont know if they work or not.
That COAST 1317 lumen flashlight sounds pretty cool. May have to put one of those on my christmas list.

There is a product that is a spray called " Blue Star " I purchased it at our Local Archery Shop in Lewisville Tx.. All Star Archery and Marine. The spray is a powder You mix with water and spray at the location of a downed animal. It turn's a Floressant neon blue when it hits even the smallest hint of blood spray or drop's. It can only be used at night. Its the same stuff I belive crime detective's use for finding unseen blood. I carry it in My truck at all time's while hunting. For Tracking just with light, I like an old propane lantern with foil on one side of the glass. Wont overshine the blood. Hope this was helpfull. TEX.

Coast Lenser are some very good lights. These days I use my dog for that, his nose is lots better than my eyes ever were.
Not sure where you are at but if have trouble finding one let me know. Number is in the tracking thread in the deer hunting section. There is another member with a dog in training from Abelien with a dog in training as well.

I have tried the spray and it works on very dark nights. You only get one use out of it once you mix it, if I remember right. I like the Streamlight if I am not looking for blood, but they work great for searching ahead of the trackers.
I have found that I can see the blood better with the washed out "yellow" lights better than the new LED "white" lights. They seem to wash the color away too much. My favorite is an old maglite with a worn out bulb.
I have also tried different "blood lights" and have never found one that works.
Good luck

I have to agree on the Coleman lantern, they don't shine far, but they definitely make blood easier to find than with a flashlight. They always seem to make the blood glow, IMO.
I feel more like I do now then I did when I got here.

Another vote for the lantern. Cut up an aluminum can and shield one side of the globe so it doesn't blind you. Best tracking light made.

Heck yeah. That's why I prefer morning hunts. Plus I hate cutting them up in the dark.
