Either way you will get a good machine anymore.
If you want my honest opinion, I would go ahead and take a look at Can Am and Yamaha as well. Artic Cat and Polaris I have both heard of reliability issues. But, you can get a bad egg no matter what brand you buy.
I bought a Polaris RZR, even though I fought the idea of doing so because I'm not a fan of Polaris. But, 6 months of hard riding and the only problem I've had is a melted vent line that came loose from it's collar. So, it's just a toss up I guess.

Honda big red. Great side by side. I am not a fan of Honda at all but... The new big red is a nice SXS!
Never been to a camping world. I prefer Dick's to be honest.

Your not a fan of Honda? Really? They have to be the most reliable maker of ATV's out there.

My office has an artic cat S*S and it is the biggest hunk of junk I have ever ridden. Linkage rattles loose, roll cage comes loose, and every other screw has to be tightend after each use. Couldn't give me one.

Honda big red. Great side by side. I am not a fan of Honda at all but... The new big red is a nice SXS! One of the few times I have ever met anyone that didn't like a Honda. I am not a fan of Polaris. Had two 4-wheelers and they were both broke most the time. I am sticking with Honda's from now on.

Yeah, I hate polaris. Have a 06 hawkeye, the mounts for the rear tires has broke on both sides (I am not a big guy about 180lbs) Had oil coming out the breather box once, and now had the bolt that holds the rear pulley come off, and messed up the front pullet and the belt. Going to fix it again, but love my honda.

Never had a side by side but have had ATV's. Had Polaris, Kawasaki, and Honda. I'll never own anything but a Honda. If you don't need super heavy duty, their 420 is an amazing machine. Have a 2007 model and have had zero maintenance except the battery finally died this year. The Polaris and Kawasaki resulted in more repair bills than what I paid for the repo Honda. Although my dad took some bullets from the Japs in WWII I have to admit the Honda is the best. Just wish Ford would build an ATV! Only complaint about the Honda 420 is that it is not independent rear suspension...if that is an issue for you, step up to the 500. We have abused the 420 beyond belief and it just keeps on lovin' us. NO REGRETS!!!!!!

Had a Polaris ATV, hated it. No maintenance issues the 2 years I had it but it was the coldest natured, hardest starting engine I have ever owned. In the winter you had to let it warm up for at least 10 min. before you could drive it. I sold it 2 years ago and bought a Yamaha Rhino and that was the best move I ever made. I have owned Yamaha outboards, scooters and now SxS and I will never own anything else. YAMMER-HAMMER all the way.

Wonder how Arctic cat won Baja in the stock class? Ive got Yamaha and Arctic cat, All seem to have there good and bad. The Arctic cat will definately ride better, sxs that is. If you want speed the XTZ 1000 Arctic cat runs 77 stock.

My Prowler runs and rides great. I'm happy with it. I went on what I would cosider an easy trail ride with some buds on a Rhino. Half way into it, he had two busted boots. They just don't have enough clearance or undercarriage protection.

Can't comment on AC but I did have a Polaris Sportsman 500 and I hated it. It was very cold natured and after sitting for a week you almost couldn't get it cranked.
I hear the Rangers are better. I have also heard of some issues with AC Prowler UTVs. So, probably it's a tossup and would depend on how you want to use it and what price you can get them for.

Just change the oil and filters yearly and they just keep on going. It can be below freezing and you just tap the button and it fires right up. Polaris and artic cat would be on the bottom of my list. For reliability besides a Honda I would consider Yamaha.

Recently decided to buy an ATV for next season. Most of what I know comes from learning from others so I was going to make a post about which brand.
Looks like from reading this thread that the Honda and Yamaha have better reliability.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

My 2 700 Grizzlies had been all over Moab, some of Colorado, New Mexico and Texas, Cant go wrong with Yamaha. But I still like my Arctic Cat XTZ 1000 Prowler.

We have a couple Yamahas and you can't beat them IMO! Yes, we have owned Hondas before but for us the yamaha is just a better choice. They get the job done!
You can run but you can't hide...
