I have been looking at gun safes lately but don't have $1000 to drop on the one that I would really like to have. Do any of you have any ideas of where to get a decent fire rated 18-24 gun safe for a reasonable price? I don't have a ton of firearms now but I don't want to have to upgrade my safe in a few years. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks Chris

There's some guys on craigslist that sell scratch & dent safes. I think they're in FW. They have a bunch under $1000.

I saw that guy. I think he's in Keller. He moved his warehouse about a year ago but I never could catch him. Does anyone know where his warehouse is?

I have a friend who is about to sell his Cannon safe. It's fire rated but I'm not sure how many guns it can hold. Price would be considerably less than 1000. PM me if you want me to get more info.

I have several safes for sale that are well under 1000.00. Give me a call at 817-480-5848 or take a look at my web site at www.acsafes.com.

I got a sentry safe (16 gun) from Walmart. Best price I found and good delivery service. Put it right where I wanted it. No installation or mounting, but I did that in a snap.

I would definitely recommend AC, I bought mine when Adam ran it from his house. Super nice guy and heck of a deal

I apologize for the bump...just my two cents.. Here are my 2 cents. I have a couple of small Stack-on biometrics. I will be replacing them. Sometimes they read your print first time. That's great and very fast. On the other hand, it often takes multiple tries to open the safe. Yesterday it took at least six tries to open it, which is way longer than it would have taken to enter a combination. If your fingers are anything other than perfectly clean and dry, the scanner can have a very hard time. I think they are a great concept, but still lack a little in execution. I did get my Barska bio for $249 https://secretstorages.com/best-gun-safe-under-1000/ It's the model with two shelves for more storage capacity and has a small, (dim and somewhat useless) light for the top shelf. A can't praise this piece of safety equipment enough. IIRC, it can be programmed to recognize up to 200 different prints, so you can give others access without worrying about giving out spare keys or a combination that will eventually be repeated too many times until unauthorized ears hear it. No keys to find or combos to remember if you're woken in the middle of the night and still half asleep when you go for your gun. Just put your index finger on the reader, your middle finger on the activation button, and it pops open in less than a second. There's plenty of room to keep my loaded G30 and Colt snubby .38 Spl in it, along with several full mags and speed loaders all the time, and since it automatically locks when closed, there's no chance of making the mistake of not spinning the combo wheel or leaving keys next to it as you get ready to head out for the day. Even though it runs on AC and has DC battery backup, It also comes with a backup key, which I keep in my long gun safe. It also comes with a template for mounting it to a wall or solid object, but for now, mine sits loosely on the nightstand. I don't know how secure bolting it to my fine particle board and veneer nightstand would be anyway, and I'm working on my master plan for hidden wall safes in several strategic locations around the house. What I'd love to find is a horizontal long gun bio-safe that I could use for traveling. I have a couple cheap carriers that can be opened with a generic key or even a can opener for that matter, and a biometric that I could secure inside my vehicle that held 4 long guns would be great. Grab my choice of a gun at the range, close the box and it's all locked up until I come back to switch guns. There are a lot of useful videos on this topic on Youtube, I will leave here one of them, as many often have similar questions.

I bought my 48 gun Cannon new from a dealer on Craigslist six years ago but don’t remember the name. I did some shopping and the best deal I found was on Craigslist.
Don’t roll those bloodshot eyes at me.
