Was outside working with my beagle pup when the this coyote started yepping and looking right in our direction. I had to get my binocs to see it. It was on a little hill in c.r.p. field approx 500yrds away. I grabbed my 22-250 and leaned against a porch collum. I put it about a foot above his head and let loose. Rolled him, first shot. I will be the first to admit it was a VERY lucky shot. Hit him a little back so me and the boy jumped on the 4 wheeler and I let him finish him off with my 22 pistol. I love country living.

Great shot.

Looks like you hit him in the marbles the first time and paralyzed him.

That's my kinda hunting.... Alot of times I will use the mouth call when at the ranch....
Had a buddy of mine from Dallas that couldn't believe his eyes...
Called in a yote in my boxers and no shirt to within 70 yards of the back door.....My other buddy in his cowboy hat, boxers and white tee gingerly walked to his truck and busted the yote with his 30-30.... Now that is country living.....

Spend time with the ones you love. Time is not guaranteed.

My 22-250 is a tack driver but I have never attempted a shot this far, most of my shots are 200yrds or less. I had no idea about dropage at that range, so did I want to kill it, YES, did I think I would, not really. If I scared it away, it would have been good too. I just get tired of them yotes yepping all the time and making the dogs bark all during the night. I would definately say luck was on my side even though I think i'm pretty handy with a rifle.

Perhaps you should offer your services to CJ Wilson.

I remember when the Hockley County courthouse would've given you, like, $14 for a set of ears. Nice shot, Mark...
