Pretty good area, used to go to Lowake alot when I hunted in Salt Gap. Hit a dear at 70 mph out there in a lifted 1 ton, no damage to the truck but the deer came out the back in pieces. Only time I have ever had my stomach turn on me when seeing a dead animal.
2 Guns would be perfect on this place, 3 would be tight, 4 just too much. Good luck if I wasn't already hooked up I would jump on it, although I heard the steak house has really declined in quality over the years.

Got water line there but would have to get it going. No water in house yet. Yeah the steak house is about 2 miles away. It was not as good as it once was. But then the old owner died about 2 years ago and it has been alot better since then.

I don't have a dog in this hunt, but for what it's worth, last fall during football playoffs, some buds and stopped to eat at the steakhouse - food was excellent by the way.... I wasn't driving and not familiar with the area, but turned near the steakhouse and took a so-called shortcut to San Angelo. Not far from the steakhouse I saw one of the biggest w/t bucks I've ever seen, just meandering along the edge of a cotton field near a draw with trees and shrubbs. All this happened right at dark. This buck was >20" wide, heavy beams. Couldn't see well enough to count points, as he was going straight away. Point of this story is that there must be some quality deer in the area.
So she says "sure Honey, I agree, you DO need a new deer rifle..." And that, boys, is how I ended up with new living room furniture!
