You think this will stand up?

The scariest thing is that they are still pushing the story that illegal purchases in the US are supplying the cartels in Mexico. Any half intelligent person would understand that this is just not the case.

If Gov. Perry blocks this I would vote and support him if he ran for Pres.

I think we all need to flood his office with phone calls. The NRA, gunshop owners...etc ... need to file suits against the United States Government.

He is dismantling the Constitution right before our very eyes. Those people that truly believe that he is all about "The People" have got to be mentally challenged. It is more and more obvious he wants to be a DICTATOR so bad...he can taste it.

2-full threads on the topic, and none of the FFL's I have talked to or any posting in these threads have seen anything official from BATFE.

This has actually been around a while, I saw it in an American Hunter magazine a while back. I doubt given the success of "Gun Runner" and "Gun Walker" he will be able to drum up much support. It is time for the public to wake up and see wth is going on around them

The same thing for multiple handgun purchases within a week has been in place for years.

I don't really see the difference. Can someone enlighten me?

Someone sees an opportunity to score some political points-that's the difference.

Several gun dealers have expressed support for the idea. The owner of "Cheaper Than Dirt!" said he had no problem with it and said it was just "good police work" to know if a guy was buying multiple AK 47s at the same time. This was in this morning's Dallas Morning News. I happen to agree with him.

It's easy to just react to something. It's harder to study the facts, think about it and form an objective opinion.

NRA Statement on Obama Administration Decision to Require Rifle Sales Reporting

Monday, July 11, 2011

$40 billion transnational criminal enterprises don't fill out paperwork and are not deterred by paperwork violations. This is a blatant effort by the Obama administration and ATF to divert focus of Congress and the general public from their gross incompetence in the Fast and Furious scandal. This scheme will unjustly burden law-abiding retailers in border states. It will not affect drug cartels and and it won't prevent violence along our borders. ATF and the Administration lacks the statutory authority to do this and the NRA will file suit as soon as ATF sends the first demand letters.

I agree with the NRA. Just another law that affects innocent people, instead of criminals.

Given that the reporting of multiple handgun sales has been required for some years now, does anyone know the statistics of how many "straw buyers" have been charged, arrested, convicted, fined or done time as a result of this reporting?
With the info I get from the Gun Runner and Fast & Furious, why would anyone have any confidence that the DOJ would do anything with the rifle info now to be reported?
