I love the Kahr PM9, but it is out of my price range.

Mfloski: Is there a reason you're stuck on the SAS rather than one of the other P238's? Maybe I am an idiot but I have convinced myself that the rounded edges are worth the cost...even though I can not find one anywhere to compare!! Prolly dumb since I could go to my local gun store and buy one of the other four steles of this gun right now!

So, what about double action vs single action triggers...in .380 options are slim if you want single action but I am thinking that pistol would be much more accurate being ultra compact and all if it was a single action trigger.

You have to really define "carry" because everyone is different. I know folks that will not carry all the time if it won't drop into the pocket. Others don't mind hip holsters, other folks don't like IWB. I carry a 226 in my front waist band very often even in shorts. Many times I'm carrying a hamerless airweight. Now once you establish carry, how many rounds? Why someone would carry a 232 over a PM9 is beyond me. Call me a wuss. But I just can't do an IWB hoketer so I need small and easy to concele!

The only reason to get a .380 is to carry it when you can't carry anything else, usually in a front pocket, or as a backup. If you are going to holster a gun inside or outside your belt, get a larger caliber......IMHO. Different strokes.......

I am not trying to start anything but I have a question for all you CC guys. How do you deal with so many different locations within a city or area that forbid guns on the premises? I would forget that I had it on and walk right in never thinking about it till it was too late.

Call me a wuss. But I just can't do an IWB holster so I need small and easy to conceal!
If you are wanting to carry outside the waistband then I'd recommend a snub-nose revolver in a high-ride holster of some kind. I often carry a S&W 642 in a Bianchi Minimalist. It easily conceals with a t-shirt. I prefer to use my Galco King-Tuk, but it's inside the waist (although VERY comfortable for this big boy.) You might just look at pocket carrying a Keltec P3AT or Ruger LCP. Just get the right pocket holster for it like a DeSantis Nemesis. I do this a lot during the summer.

IMO cc should be legal just about everywhere!

In the great city of Greenville, TX just about the only place I ever go that I cannot carry is... well... nowhere. I never go to the post office, they pick stuff up from my house. I never go the bank, I can scan and deposit checks from home. I don't go to the hospital that often, and I have no friends or relatives in nursing homes. Applebees doesn't have a visible 51% sign anymore, and we can't afford to eat there anyway. I carry without worry...

Yeah, I RARELY see places with 30.06 signs. Outside of the post office, I generally have no issues. I don't spend any time in bars. And if it's a store with a 30.06 sign, I wouldn't want to shop there anyways. I'll take my business elsewhere to someone who supports the 2nd Amendment.

"Learn the law" - Never was a better piece of advice said. You will get accustomed to watching for posted signs and you'll know where you can/can't carry after a while. I've occasionally walked into places that only after leaving, realized I shouldn't have been carrying in. Next time, I didn't. I wouldn't make a habit of going into prohibited places while carrying but unless they have a metal detector, usually no one is the wiser to your mistake. If you wound up in a situation where you had to use your gun to protect your life or the lives of others on those prohibited premises, you'll be considered a hero. If the wrong person sees that you're carrying, you might spend some time talking to the police, trying to explain your mistake.

Prolly dumb since I could go to my local gun store and buy one of the other four steles of this gun right now! You can compare photos of the various styles here: http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductList/pistols-p238.aspxFrankly, doesn't look like enough difference to justify the extra $200 and the trouble of finding one. I looked and looked, and all I could ever find was the stupid rainbow model. Everybody and their brother had one of those on hand. Being the only subcompact single action on the market makes them hard to come by. Stopped in at Bass Pro to buy some corn when on the way to my deer lease last December and they had just gotten in a two tone. Bought it on the spot and, their inventory was back to rainbows...

I started out carrying the biggest gun I could hide. but that started to wear on me. now I carry the same Taurus TCP 380 you quit carrying. It's not a tack driver and it may occasionally spit empties straight back at your face but in a self defense situation it will get the job done. I carry in a wallet holster. I forget I even have it sometimes. no saggy pants.

Purchased the all black with night sights today, pocket holster too. Got an extended mag and houge grips on order....and checking prices on some custom holsters......think I want a owb pancake, black leather with white stitching and the "come and take it" symbol and slogan in white! Sound dumb or different?

Sounds nice. I got a two-tone with the night sights. Still need a decent holster and extra magazines. I think you'll be happy with it. That holster sounds cool. Who makes them?

I had a PPK/S and had jamming issues. Sent it back to the factory for rework and still had jamming problems. Got rid of it and will never own a 380 again. I've had a few and none of them were reliable.
Glocks and Sigs are great, nothing else needs to be said about those. Kahr makes a great concealable gun. Very thin and light weight. I like the P9 and the CW9 is a great value in the same size range.
And not to insult the bersa/taurus owners out there... but... I would never bet my life on one of those. Sure they are cheaper but the build quality is also cheaper and not reliable imo.
sounds like you found something so good luck. Practice and find a good holster that is comfortable and carries well. I carry IWB and OWB depending on what I am wearing.

I think the best choice depends on how you dress and how you prefer to carry. I dress casual every day and I carry totally concealed---under clothing.
The first pistol I bought for carry was an XD40. It's a great pistol and I'll keep it, but it's too danged big for my carry style. Same for my P-13.
When I saw the ad copy for the KelTec PF9, I was intrigued and it led me to the P11, which I purchased. It's very easy to conceal and is no bother to carry day in, day out.
Back in the 80s, after the great FBI massacre in Miami, I hopped on the "9mm-sucks-and-I'll-never-own-one" bandwagon. But that was over twenty years ago, and one must recognize that bullet design and ammunition has improved dramatically since that time. I'd rather be carrying something in .45 ACP or .40 S&W because I know that truly ARE superior, but I have no fear that I can't stop a threat with ten rounds of hi-performance 9mm.

I vote for the Khar's and Bersa's in at least a 9mm, if not a .45.
