I add a pound of ground venison and a can of ranch style beans to the recipe listed above and bake for 45 minutes at 375.

The only jiffy box I could find says corn muffin mix and is 8.5 oz (small box). Is this the right size box?
Thanks

My wife browns some ground venison with taco and chili seasonings and puts half of the cornbread mix in the dish then the meat mixture then the other half of the cornbread mix and then bakes.

The early bird might get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

I cooked this the other evening at the Fire station with a stuffed pork loin. They loved it. Thanks for posting a good easy recipe.

I tried it and it did not come out quite right for me, but a little better after sitting in the fridge. This morning I modified the recipe a little and it came out great!

1 14.75 oz can sweet cream corn
1 11 oz can of chipolte corn juice and all(I picked out the bigger peppers)
1 stick of melted butter
1/3 of a large onion finely chopped
1 cup of shredded sharp cheddar cheese
3 heaping teaspoons of sugar (table teaspoons not measures)
1/8th cup corn oil
1/8th cup of water
1 box jiffy corn muffin mix

13x9 buttered glass dish
20 min@325 (I was cooking brownies for the girls too) and 15 min@380

Came out great!

tried the NewGulf recipe Friday night, came out a little too sweet for me but everybody seemed to like it enough not to leave any...sorry I was more worried about the bottle of blue moon in my hand than the picture quality
