I am heading to our ranch in Wellington on Thursday. I am an accountant so this will be the first time that I have been up this season. Was wondering if the birds were henned up or were coming to the calls. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

With the way the weather has been up there, it is anyones guess. My buddy up at the Gene Howe WMA, their hunts ended last weekend and they had only had 2 or 3 birds or so killed. One thing though, you ain't gonna kill one if'n you ain't out there. Good Luck and take some snow shoes.

If they have'nt been hunted any or called to at all they will still probably run to the call. Birds that have been pressured any are staying with hens, strutting and not gobbling at all.

snows gone but you may need mud boots. the birds that we are hunting are working great. most of the hens have gone to nest and the toms are looking.

My buddy is heading to the Finch Ranch in Hedley on Thursday to give it a go for the final three days. He is a trophy hunter so hopefully he will find some of them 3 year olds wanting to work.
