Thank you sir. up I will check it out.

There was an article in the DU mag a few months ago talking about one guy who had some great books that he wrote but I can't find the old mag.

I've heard his name mentioned here before too I think.

I will check this one out too though. Thanks

One more, Arkansas Duck hunters almanac, got some neat history about arkansas duckhunting, and general mid-south stuff, with some helpful info as well.

Probably Gordon MacQuarrie's "Stories of the old Duck Hunter"
I've been looking for a copy of it as well.

Two Authors i would recommend would be Gordon MacQuarrie, and Aldo Leapold.

Gordon Macquirrie's books are like a series of shorts stories about everything from duck hunting to fly fishing. Really easy to read.

Aldo Leopold's a Sand County Almanac is a great book.

Aldo was one of the forefathers of the conservation movement in America. Had a lot to do with daily bag limits, etc.

Of course he was a hunter too.

Just got The Outlaw Gunner by Harry M. Walsh. I know this crazy old cow lover that recommended it...

A compilation of short stories called "The Duck Hunter's Book: Classic Waterfowl Stories" edited by Lamar Underwood.

It has many good stories by authors like Nash Buckingham, Gene Hill, Gordon MacQuarrie, Ed Zern, Bob Brister and Ted Trueblood.

Gives you a broad look at the greats so you can decide who's larger works you would like to read.

Thought for the day: Ducks were almost hunted to extinction long before camo was invented.
