Ok, so I just got my 5R. Now, I need glass. I am looking at trijicon and burris. I am a little worried to get the trijicon because of the lighted dot at the center of the reticle covering up targets at longer ranges. Anyone have experience with these or thoughts?

Also looking at the Vortex viper pst series. Little hesitant though because I know nothing of them, are they new to the scope industry? Anyone have experience with their products or customer service?

If your talking about the Trijicon accupoint I would buy that over any scope in the stores. I have the 2.5-10x56 with the mildot reticle and the fiber optics in the center does not get in the way no matter how far the shot is, on the rear of the scope you can also adjust it to your personal preference or turn it completely off.

I been through a ton of scopes and the accupoint is my favorite so far!

Thats the one, but looking at the 5-20x50.

Most PST's are backordered for a pretty good while.

I have the same scope (minus the mildots and completely agree! I will add that I also believe that (despite the relatively high cost) it is an incredible value for the money. It just plain works, great scope!

Accupoints are fanstastic scopes, one of my absolute favorites

the 5-20 lacks enough internal adjustment and the crosshairs a bit thick if you are wanting to use it for 1K shooting

the 3-9x40 mildot / green dot is a great hunting scope

I'm thinking about the 5-20 on my AR-10 or the NightForce 2.5-10x24

What should I look for in a scope if I did want to shoot 1000. I am not acquainted with shooting this distance but I am hoping to work my way up.

I have a vortex viper 6-20. and it is very clear. Im sure when you get to the pst level and better cross hairs it would be tought to beat for the price.

Elivation travel is the main thing but glass clearness helps a lot too.

I have 2 Burris XTR's one 3x12 and one 4x16 and love them, but I have shot the Trij accupoint and they are very nice. You can't go wrong either way. Burris cost less than accupoint.
