I got opportunity to go goose hunting. I have never been before. What type of 3 1/2inch shells should I get. what size shot also. Thanks

I shoot kent #1 and bb. It depends on what your gun likes.

I like to shoot buck shot. If the GW comes then I switch it out to Hyper Steel BB's

not trying to hijack the thread, but what kind of lethal range do you get on those steel BB's. Im interested in goose hunting as well. Saw a bunch this morning, but they were high flying. Just curious how far is too far with 3.5 BB...I have kents.

i dropped 4 of them sunday using 3" winchester xpert #4. buddy next to me was shooting 3" kent #2 and had the same luck. ive always had good success with the xperts. theyre cheap, reliable and get the job done.

Just curious how far is too far with 3.5 BB...I have kents. With BB you probably have a good 55 yards but then again it depends on your choke set up. Keep in mind that 40 or so yards is the better benchmark because once beyond that it's not the shell that is the limiting factor its our shooting. It's just really hard to put the pattern on anything out there that far and to me that's why I stick with steel vs something like hevi shot. If you can't regularly hit something that's 60 yards out why waste shells.
