So i am heading to Wynne Arkansas Sun-Tues for some duck hunting. Never done this before, i have my license, waders and a gun.

What advise do you have for me? What should i have in my blind? I deer hunt and have a field pack. What is in a duck field pack?

Anybody hunt NE Arkansas? Is it as good as they say?

Guided, with experienced hunters, or on your own?

I grew up in NE Arkansas. We just stood behind a pin oak tree in knee deep water and called the ducks. Here's a picture of my dad and me with a limit;

Quail hunting is like walking into, and out of a beautiful painting all day long. Gene Hill

Sniper John- THis is a guided hunt with a vendor and he is a very experienced duck hunter that spends most of his time in Stuttgart. I had a chance to pick Stuttgart but opted to go to Wynne. Would rather have a fun hang out hunt that the high dollar corp hunt.....

He should have you covered for most things then.
You might ask the outfitter what size ammo/shot and choke he recommends for the conditions.

To put in your pack or blind bag...
You might want some sort of face covering such as a mask, headnet, or face paint. By all means take a camera, put it in a ziplock bag till you need it. Snacks, a drink, or your own thermos of coffee. headlight, sunglasses in case it is a bright morning, hearing protection. Spare pair of gloves in case your first pair gets wet. I am sure others will post some other suggestions too.

Arkansas has a reputation for great duck hunting. Should be a fun hunt.

You really only need three things

Flashlight
Knife
Toilet paper.

You should be good to go.

TP is a must. Especially if you take said thermos of coffee with you.

Also be aware that as soon as you put your waders on you will have to take a #2. Don't be alarmed that is just the duck gods sick humor. Thus the TP stated above is essential. If you forget your TP you might want to wear 2 pairs of socks just in case.

Have fun that should be an awesome hunt.

Just make sure to be downwind of the decoys when you go and there shouldn't be any problems... confused2

eek2 That could be a problem in hunting flooded timber.

You may need to get to the boat to hang it over the side. Just remember to pay attention to where your wader starps are when you taking care of business.
