I haven't any personal experience but if you're just looking for a plinking pistol I've read mostly good reviews and those who didn't like em usually had zero experience were just knocking a low priced pistol.

My dad just bought one and I took it out and out of 100 rounds it jammed 16 times I will never recommend buying one the only good thing is they come with a life time warranty I have a kel tech I carry since my Springfield is not comfortable to carry and the kel tech cost 260 for the pf9 and I shot 100 rounds and had 0 problems
this aint the wild west you cant clean up the streets with a gun, but sometimes it is needed..... got papers?

A good friend of mine has one for "ranch use". It's certainly nothing special, but it serves its purpose in firing a few rounds every once in a while.
I certainly wouldn't carry it with the intention of trusting it with your life. If anything, shell out a little extra for a Springfield (or Glock).

I have a 9mm and have had a .45 Hi Point. I never had a problem with either of them, but they are no doubt low quality.
I have never had one jam, but I sure wouldn't bet my life on one. There is a reason a Glock is in my nightstand and not a HP.
I say go ahead and get one if you are not using it for self defence or anything.
Plus, I use the 9mm when I am working on new handloads. If I'm gonna blow one up, I would rather destroy a $150 gun.

My best friend had a carbine also. We shot that thing till the barrel smoked, not a single problem. Cool little gun.

Yea I reckon but they are American Made too. I've had 2 and the carbine. All worked every time. Sold them all to fund other stuff and always got right at what I paid. I really liked the carbine with a little 4x scope. Fun as can be to shoot.
It ain't easy being me.

Some of my friends had a 9mm and 40 pistols. They both were very top heavy. They shot fairly decent enough to hit a target. but for less than $200, cant complain. However, with the exception of using aluminum cased rounds they never jammed. They went bang everytime. Hi point backed them up with a full lifetime warranty to. and if no ammo they are heavy enough to use as a hammer instead. but i would use them as a good truck or boat gun, know its gunna work, and aint really out much if it breaks or its lost.
