I was at the range Sunday afternoon and shot 5 rounds through my AR and then it jammed (really bad) the spent casing had flipped up on top of the bolt carrier and was jammed in their really bad. Anyway I got it fix and proceeded to shoot some more, it kept jamming. Now it will not eject the spend cassing and it tries to load another round. I try to shoot single shot to see what happens and it still will not eject the spent casing. I have to pull back the charging handle one more time for it to grab the casing that is still in the barrel. Has anyone ever seen or heard of this?

Was the case staying locked in the bolt itself ?

it was staying in the barrel and i would put back the handle and let it go. it would grab the case and i would pull the handle again to eject the case.

Hmm that happens to me with steel cased ammo and is pretty common. Take the bolt apart and see if there is any debri keeping the extractor from doing its job. You could try installing a heavy extractor sping or vinton o ring, I dont think Bushys come stock with those. The extractor spring could be too weak to make the extractor stay latched to the case. It kind of sounds like the case is expanding in the chamber teh way steel cases do though.

Yes I have them and can throw one in there for you. If you put preasure on the extractor pushing it away fron the bolt is there much resistance ?

Sounds like it could be under gassed to me. Extractor upgrade is mandatory though.

I bet its not pushing the carrier far enough back so its re chambering the spent round and picking up a new one. Try the extractor and if it still does it, have a gunsmith check your gas port. We have had open up a bunch of them. Also polishing your chamber may help as well. Hope you get it going.

Also make sure it does not have a rifle length buffer spring or buffer if it is a mutil position stock.
