I read, draw, write. Sometimes I'll sharpen my knife.

If I get really bored, I'll try to spear wasps with a stick.

If I don't have some sort of constant stimulation, I fall asleep (I'm guilty of sleeping in the stand a lot)

“I went to the woods because I wished to live deliberately...”

Surf the hunting forums depending on which blind I'm in. The reception is questionable at best in some areas. I also scan the country side with a spotting scope.

enjoy the nothingness. No emails, no blackberry, no wife, no kid. I listen to the wind, watch the grass grow, feel the breeze and occasionally BLAST THE EVER LOVING HELL out of something! Oh then eat it.

Read hunting mags I hadn't finished yet. Read jokes and then some stories in Readers Digest. Let grandkids shoot corn stealing birds and squirrels if they get close enough to pile near blind. Some blinds long view, others less than 75 yards. Enjoy watching nature. Enjoy the cabin as much as the blind and hunt. Mainly because it's family land.

read is the one I picked up last year. But before that I texted old friends I don't have time to call or talk to normally, and before that I took a hunting magazine and glanced at that, and always glass periodically no matter what...Suppose to be hunting! Also, flip thru the old wallet and clean it out and thank the man upstairs for my kiddos, wife, and family. A few beers nevers hurts as long as you don't go crazy and have to go to the bathroom constantly and ruin your hunt or become unsafe.

Duck hunting I'm usually just sitting there because it's too much of a risk of dunking the iphone. If I'm on land I'm surfing all over the web.
