just wanted anyone who hunts out of the superior fiberglass blinds to know that if their blinds were made more than 3 yrs ago the floor was made out of plywood. somehow water is getting in the blinds and rotting out the floor and a strong wind can blow the blind right off the base. this didnt happen to me but i sold my blind that i bought 3 yrs ago and when we went to take it down the blind fell right off the base onto the trailer. the floor was completly rotted and you couldnt tell because they put a clear coat of something on the bottom of the plywood but nothing on the topside under the carpet so the water just sits there and rots the wood. long story short i called superior and they said they have changed the floor to fiberglass because of the problems with rotting. said if i brought mine up there they would change out the floor for 150 dollars. i just feel like if you pay 1800 for a blind it should last more than yrs. poor customer service also said they would have it done in no more than 2 weeks called today and they havent even gotten to it yet,has been over 2 1/2 weeks now. just a friendly warning to check out your floors to see if they have started rotting. other than this i have enjoyed hunting out of their blinds always dry and warm.

Ouch ! I would not be a happy camper if I had spent the money on one of those for the floor just to rot. Sounds like a serious safety issue.

Change it out foe 150.00? It's there problem and they knew about it, I'd have to argue it should be free.

finally picked the blind up from superior fiberglass in bridgeport.they done a pretty good job of fixing it,but then they tried to charge 250.00 instead of the 150 they quoted me.wanted to charge another 100 for fixing a little hole in the side that was caused by it falling on to the trailer when we lowered it. i felt like i was getting screwed just for the 150. ended up just paying the 150 after arguing with the manager for about 30 minutes.i know one thing i will never buy another superior blind just because of their customer service.its not a bad blind if they just keep using the fiberglass floors, said they were using the plywood to save money.

It's a shame when any company treats you this way, least of all someone in the outdoor community. It makes no difference whether they knew about it or not they should have made it right and if they charged at all it should have been for material only. Then you would be on this site telling everyone how well they took care of you and they probably would have sold a few more as a result. Bet that doesn’t happen now.

dont really know were the water is coming from, could be rain coming in the bottom of the windows,or condensation dont really know.it must be a really big problem for them because at the shop were they make the blinds they had more blinds they were fixing than new ones.we walked around and looked in alot of the blinds and some of the floors were completely rotted out.the bottom of mine looked good to, just raise the carpet on the floor and check out your wood to see if its good. you might be one of the lucky ones that they put the fiberglass floor in.

I have a SF blind that is ~3 yr ago & part of the floor is starting to rot in the corner....The problem is I have a rubber mat on the floor and it has keep the floor moist/wet. The floor is not completely rotted through, so I have chip out the rotted wood then bondo the area and I am planning to over lay with another piece of plywood then fiberglass the floor & sink some self tapping screw into the stand...It's on a 15 ft tower. Truly a BAD design not to fiberglass the floor!!! Anyone have any better solutions? Thanks!

I have one that is 7 years old. What I did was buy the gallon size fiberglass repair kit at the parts store. Take a wire wheel grinder to rough up the exsisting plywood and about 4" of the wall. Mix the glass and start laying on the floor to cover the entire floor. once it is cured cover with sheet metal and seal edges with Sikaflex sealant. I did mine top and bottom and it is permanent!! Basically I sandwhiched the exsisting plywood with fiberglass and with the sheet metal, the floor integrity is now solid and water proof.

Sounds like it's just matter of time before someone gets hurt or killed when a stand gets blown off a tower. Thanks for the heads up.

There are too many other choices out there to support a company that puts people at that kind of risk & then charges to fix the death trap they built.

I am from Bridgeport and I don't hunt out of one of their blinds but I do know a few years ago the company was bought out. You are probably not dealing with the same people who sold you the stand.

Also the stands they build are just an offspring of other fiberglass work that they do. It used to not be their primary industry.

I actually saw the guy replacing the bottoms of the stands when i was running my route through there on wednesday. Usually they have them all standing up, but they were all laid down. I was wondering what was going on.

The same thing happened to us in Ozona. Lifted the blind and put 3/4" treated plywood underneath. It was an easy fix, but I do agree it should not have happened on a 1700 blind.
