Im looking into buying a remote game camera for security pictures. I am wondering what opinions yall have on which set up is the best for the money. I have been looking at "smart scouter", but the reviews dont seem very good at all. It runs at about $600 at Bass Pro.

Any of yall use any of these set ups? Im hoping to keep costs around 500-600. Basically want one to monitor a road and get the pics through the internet somehow. Any suggestions appreciated.

You might want to check into home security cameras. If there is a Fry's near you they carry DVR's and cameras etc... There are DVR's that are network enabled. You can use a wireless camera as long as your DVR and internet connection are within the wireless range. The main drawback is there isn't high speed internet in most rural areas. You will also have to come up with a solar/battery power system for the camera. Fry's Cameras

I use Lorex Cameras but, have tested the Swann cameras and use the Swann DVR. There are battery powered wireless cameras that would easily adapt with a solar panel. I believe you would still need a supplemental battery for 24/7 use.

Are you wanting to monitor live so you call call the Sherrif? Are you wanting to monitor your home or hunting place? I think the less expensive trail cameras placed in hard to reach places would provide pictures to the LEOs.

I came across this on another forum for security cameras...

Solar cameras

No telling what the prices are. You can probably build a setup with some of the battery powered wireless cameras from Swann or Lorex cheaper then on of the Solstace cams but, they look pretty solid. popcorn

Here's the place to do your research on cameras. Great website.
